Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Given the desperate drought conditions of Northern California it was wonderful to see the free flowing Sacramento River. Great trails along the river, especially near the Sundial Bridge. Fishing occurring. Such a peaceful flowing view.

We stayed in the JGW RV Park and had a river from site for 2 nights. loved taking our chairs out to the grassy areas beneath mature trees and sat to watch the river, floaters and boaters pass by . We come from the central coast of CA so do not get to see a river this large frequently. Really loved the river setting and riparian areas.

The river seemed quite high this years so there must have been plenty of snow this past winter. We rode our bikes beside the river and also walked for miles along the river trail. Not to be missed.

The Sacramento River was formed not too far from here, but it is wide and swift. Lots of fishing and varieties of fish along here. It is quite a view from the SunDial Bridge with the houses on the cliffs.

The Sacramento River cuts a wide path through the heart of Redding. The view from various places in town is nice, especially from the Sundial Bridge. There is a walking trail down by the river that many people frequent. It really is a lovely river.

Must walk the bridge over the Sacramento river. Easy access going west on Hiway 44 before you get to downtown Redding. Easy walk with great views of the River.

Very disappointed. Called to see if I could rent a space for 30 days in October but was told my 2007 trailer was too old. I was told it was a law that an RV must be under 10 years old. I have found with all the other parks in Redding that I’m calling that the year of my RV is not an issue. We have kept our RV in prime condition. Thank God there are other options that do not discriminate. We will not chose Sacramento RV even for a short stay. Don’t want to ruin their reputation with our RV being parked there.

The Sacramento River has several entry points for trails over several miles. I walk them regularly with my dog and love them all. We usually walk one to 3 hours. However, after the CARR Fire swept through this area a couple weeks ago, it burned my three favorite trails so they're still blocked off due to the fire. One was just west of our famous, historic Diestelhorst Bridge. So that blocks the trails for continuous walks, bike rides, or jogging. You have to find a way to go around the fire zones. Yet, you can still find lots of beauty in the Sundial Bridge area, or up around Shasta Dam. Spring and Fall are the most beautiful times of year. In July and August it might be too hot in the middle of the day. That would depend on you. But the river is always intriguing to look at. And it's so peaceful to see fishermen out in their boats cruising the river. In the Spring there is a rafting, kayaking competition called 'The Sundial Splash' near the Sundial Bridge that's a lot of fun and hundreds attend. You can't go wrong with exploring the river trails along the Sacramento River. Unfortunately, currently, part of the trail is blocked off.

This river is your companion for many miles on Interstate 5. There is a lot to do around this river too.

It is a fun river to interact with and easy to enjoy.

Gorgeous river right through Redding. Water is beautiful. Raft down the river by rental companies, great for kayaking, standup paddling, fishing, and dinner cruises.

It is a lovely, moving river, with many people on it enjoying the ride. This area is full of fauna and flora too. The Turtle Bay Bridge offers the best opportunity to view it from above. Witnessing many on the river enjoying the recreation of rafting, and more. Many people bring their pets. I witnessed a man tossing a huge log into the water for his golden retriever to fetch! Water fowl can be observed as well. It is lovely to see the sun glistening on the river. It is much cooler by the river too during the summer heat.
