The park is gorgeous. The city has done a fabulous job at trying to get people and especially young children out and active. The junior bike skills park is AMAZING. However, the city has done an equally bad job of keeping the homeless away from...More

You have to be careful going to this beautiful park as the homeless and druggies are all over the place and wanting your money to go buy more drugs.

Took a nice walk along the river with the extended family. Loved seeing the area where salmon run. Wear sneakers or comfortable shoes if you plan on taking the full hike. Very nice nature walk.

My great-grandfather, C. C. Bush, is called the "Father of Redding." His wonderful statue is in Caldwell Park. He is sitting on a bench looking at the river. Lots of people have told us that they love to stop and sit with him.

This park is pretty large and there's a skate park but it's usually ran by older kids. You will see homeless folks under the BIG trees. You can have birthday parties as long as you get there early to reserve your pavilion. I love Caldwell...More

For me its just a nice clean relaxing place. And you have the options for swimming in a pool, walking the river trail, or just watching the water fowl swim. Plus the Salmon ladders are visible and fun to watch. The park itself is clean...More

This is a very pretty park with many large, old trees. Shady and right next to the beautiful Sacramento River. We would visit it more often, but there are a lot of homeless men just sitting around so we don't always feel safe. I would...More

Sure, you can walk your dog there. Just make sure he/she is leashed and pick up after them. Great place to walk your dog. Walking trail along the river and lots of grassy areas
