After you park the car its about a half mile walk down to the Point. On the way there are a few cottages that can be rented and facilities are close by.I would say this is more for the historical and geographical interest than regular sightseeing.

Turnoff entrance eight miles from downtown Point Reyes Station, along Pierce Point Road, with day fee sticker obtained from vending machine, this is the paramount swimming beach only matched by Chicken Ranch Beach at Pine Hill Road at the north end of Inverness. Picnic benches, rest rooms, and starting point for both short walk and longer hike to other beaches.... More

Our good friends had a wedding ceremony here at a beautiful site on the bay and parking is available. Trees create a shady area throughout the picnic sites. Nice trails lead you to the beaches at the bay. Walking westward you can access another beach area to enjoy.

The only beach in the area that you can drive to. We expected it to be more crowded then it was. There are a few trails around it that offered great views across the bay. Great value for $10 entry/parking fee.

We had originally planned to have a picnic with another couple @ Hog Island Oysters but to our disappointment, they don't allow picnickers to bring own beverages & food! Hog Island was nice enough to put a brochure together showing other, nearby, picnic areas. So...off to an adventure we went! After passing up a few picnic grounds that didn't look... More

Lovely 1 hour drive from Mill Valley, this beach, sea water fueled by the Pacific Ocean, is calm and protected. Lovely place for picnics, plenty of parking, easy access into the bay water. Fenced-in swimming area enhances supervision and child protection. Dogs are allowed and you'll need $8.00 to enter the State Park. Lovely old-style historical restaurants in and around... More

Nicely paved roads lead you the gate and all the way down to the beach and picnic area. Looks like plenty of parking with only an eight dollar entrance fee paid by Visa or MasterCard at park entrance. Picnic areas have lots of tables and BBQ's pits. Some located down by the beach and a lot located just above the... More

The beach is just a short drive through the park and is worth the visit. It was a little crowded and must be absolutely mobbed during fine weather because it is extremely attractive, swimmable, accessible, and a lovely view. Saw a fox perched on a picnic table watching the humans play and then she scampered off into the underbrush. Restrooms... More
