Spent portions of two days here. Beautiful seashore views with history and geology thrown in. Highly recommend the trek up to the elk preserve. We went early in the morning and was greeted by dozens of elk right along the road.

Point Reyes National Park is beautiful. The Visitor's Center is outstanding, one of the nicest I have every been to. Rangers were very helpful in explaining to us the highlights of the Park. We went to the Lighthouse which is totally worth it and then to off to the beach with the seals. Take a couple hours and enjoy this... More

Many diverse spots to visit in the park. Stop by the Bear Valley Visitor Center to have a ranger help you plan your visit. Each visit provides unbelievable vistas, incredible encounters with nature and perfect solitude. My favorites hikes , Estero Trail and Tomales Point trail. But there are so many depending on your time. Elephant seals in season, spot... More

There's nothing better than the California coast. And Point Reyes is a very special place. Drive the scenic route and get out and explore. Wildflowers are in full bloom now and it's not too crowded.

Amazing example of how nature is able to continue after something like an earthquake tries to shake things uo a little bit. Start at the visitor center and if you don't have much time, at least hike the Earthquake Trail. There are two sets of interpretive signs along this loop trail. In addition to the adult ones, there are also... More

Whether it is the veiw of the water, or to see the elephant seal, it is worth the trip. Parking can be challenging and you may need to walk...so wear comfortable shoes.

From the Visitors' Center in Bear Valley, you can hike an easy trail all the way to the ocean, with several side trails to choose from as well. It's about 8 miles roundtrip. About half-way along the trail, there's a beautiful meadow with log benches and restrooms. You can turn around there and still have a great hike back through... More

Stunning views, great opportunities for hiking and whale watching. Consider visiting one of the local dairy farms for incredible cheese.

What a lovely place. The Ranger told us the road to Drakes Beach washed out the day before we were there so the shuttle bus was not running. It made for a crowded parking area, but still beautiful.

Be prepared for wind and beautiful scenery. It's gets a little breezy near the lighthouse and along the Chimney Rock trail, but the wild flowers were awesome! The sea lions were doing their thing along the beaches, the slugs were doing their thing along the trails, and the ocean was doing its thing along the coastline. All made for a... More
