About
Bella Grace, est. 2006, is beautifully sited in the Sierra Foothills, with tasting locations in the Shenandoah Valley and historic Sutter Creek. Our family run operation achieved state-wide recognition for its wines within a few years after opening, winning two "Best of California" awards for Barbera and Grenache Blanc wines. Bella Grace continues to strive for excellence through sustainable wine growing and hand crafted winemaking. The vineyard property, in the Shenandoah Valley, grows twelve distinct wine grape varieties and three varieties of olive trees. Sustainability also extends to winemaking; much of the wine making is performed by hand, a hillside wine cave stores and ages barreled red wines, and a new solar project provides 100% of our winery power requirements.

Best Wine We Had in Three Days of Tasting
Apr. 2021
I don't typically leave reviews for wineries, but I'm making an exception here. My wife and I visited nine or 10 wineries in a tasting weekend in Amador, Calavares, and El Dorado counties, and we both agreed that Bella Grace had the best wines that we tasted. The 1646 Red Blend (Barbera, Zin, Primitivo, and Petite Sirah) and the Grenache Noir were especially good. We visited the winery in Plymouth, but I think they also have a tasting room in Sutter Creek. The service was friendly, and they allowed us to taste even though we arrived a few minutes after the posted closing time. But mostly, I'm reviewing the wine. If you go tasting in Amador County, be sure to put Bella Grace in your must-visit list.

Dewey, Wine & View ~ It does not get much better.
Jul. 2020
We had a reservation for they were very good about confirming reservations and social distancing and face masks. We each had a different type of tasting catering to our specific tastes. Both the Grenache Blanc and Red Blend were a group favorite but my girlfriend loved the olive oils the most. We brought some snack foods with us and just fell in love with the view. To make it even better we had Dewey help us with all our tasting and purchases. We had such a great time we made a reservation for the next day and did it all over again. You have got to see the view to understand ! Well and the wine.

Birthday
Sep. 2019
9 of my girlfriends and I celebrated my birthday in the cave at Bella Grace in September. We had a reservation for the max, 10 people. Our host/owner was waiting for us when we arrived. He described our tastings with each pour.I pre-selected the wine list for tasting. When we arrived my name was printed on the tasting list and I was given a very nice Tea Towel with Bella Grace name on it.. We had a great time. We enjoyed the owner's story of how he & his wife built the winery. The wines were very good. We left with several bottles of wine, olive oils and balsamic vinegar that we purchased. The location is beautiful. I would definitely go back.

Bella Grace makes some outstanding whites and imports a sparkling rose from Italy that's to die for.

First visit and it was a good one!
Aug. 2018 • Couples
Every trip to Amador, we make an attempt to stop in and try something new. This time we decided, at the advice of a friend, to stop in at Bella Grace. It was a good choice. Y'all know that this place is in a cave. The staff is great. They know their stuff! And good stuff they have. The reds are terrific. The white blends are also very good. The olive oils are good as well. This first stop won't be the last.

Love Bella Grace
May 2018
One of the best white blends we have ever tasted! Charming tasting room in Sutter Creek, and a beautiful vineyard in Plymouth, with olive oils, balsamic vinegars, and of course wine!

For a new twist on your next salad, drizzle the Jalapeno Olive Oil and the Blackberry Balsamic - superb!

Wine tasting in a cave
Apr. 2018 • Friends
The tasting room and gift shop is located in a cave, in the side of a hill, surrounded by vineyards. There are a few loung chairs outside, with excellent views of the surrounding countryside, all of it vineyards. There is plenty of free parking. There is another tasting room in central Sutter Creek.
Bella Grace produces a variety of white, rose and red wines, including a few sparkling wines and som edessert wines. We found the Viogner and ROussanne very nice, and loved the Vermentino. The Prosecco didn;t impress me, but the Barbera and the reserve Zinfandel did. Bella Grace also produces lovely olive oil. don't forget to taste it.

Off the beaten track, and well worth the visit!
Oct. 2017 • Couples
It's the Wandering Yank here. We visited during the annual Big Crush affair in October, our first visit because friends had recommended it.

The setting is beautiful, set above the vineyards with a gorgeous view. Being away from the "main" road, it's very quiet too.

Apparently the tasting room is built into the hill, but since we were here for the annual Big Crush event in October, tables were set outside to accommodate the "crowds", which I suppose is a relative term. All the better to appreciate the view.

The people were delightful, and the wine was delicious. What more could one ask for?

2 thumbs up!

Wine tasting in a cool cave
Sep. 2017 • Couples
We love that the tasting room is actually a cave! Naturally cool on a hot summer day. We happen to love the wines too. They have a "wine in a bag" which seems perfect to bring to a party or picnic. They also have a couple of whites and rose's. The view outside is great and if we come back during more moderate weather we would love to have a picnic on the premise.

Awesome August Adventure at the Vineyard!!!
Aug. 2017 • Couples
What a great event at Bella Grace Vineyards! Their summer series event, Hot August Night, was stupendous, and it started with the venue. Their vineyard location with the sun setting in the background along with a great vineyard vista was absolutely awesome!!
We are members because we overwhelming enjoy all that they make. This evening, we enjoyed all that they poured which led us to purchase nearly a case. Their sparkling wine was a big hit with my hubby and me. Naturally, guess what we bought a lot more………..
The band was incredible and heighten the experience. They are called The Random Stranger, interesting name and you can find them on the web. Warning: You may get a bunch of “other” interesting links not associated with this band. They were very entertaining.
The food: Another big hit and was offered complimentary to Bella Grace’s wine club members. El Matador Mobile Mex was the caterer. The setup, service and especially the food was impressive. The line moved quickly so the wait was minimal, and the food served was delicious.
Hats off to the Bella Grace staff. The genius of how the event was assembled and coordinated was awesome.
Side note: Although Bella Grace was quite busy, they employed “runners” to assist with getting ice buckets, assembling wine purchases, helping members carry purchases to their vehicles, etc, which left the wine attendants to focus on pouring. Other wineries should take note on how to treat their club members by having ample staffing to pull off an event as smoothly as Bella Grace.
