Another great experience at Turley!

Another great visit to Turley and absolutely outstanding Zinfandels! Larry Turley and his winemaking Team are doing something very special with their wines. And the tasting room staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable!

Great wine and safe tasting.
Oct. 2020
During a three day visit to Amador County this was one of the few wineries we visited where we felt safe from mask-less virus spreaders. Distancing was excellent and staff were always masked. Tables and chairs were disinfected after each guest as were the restrooms. As others have mentioned, this is the place for Zinfandel and the selections, sourced from Amador/Shenandoah and other California vineyards, are endless. Great wine and great service in a comfortable setting.

Fantastic visit and wine
Oct. 2018
Staff that greeted us were very very friendly. We went to Turley last October and wished we had bought more wine. We have been to the Paso Robles location and now this location. I would say we rather enjoyed this location more than the Paso Robles one. We bought a couple bottles with some friends and brought back one with us. We didn't join the wine club when we were there and are kicking ourselves now. We tried to join now and are now on a wait list, but we know it will be worth the wait.

An excellent tasting experience, particularly for Zin fans
Feb. 2019 • Couples
Visited on a long-weekend celebration event which was quite festive and engaging - pop-up pasta and salad to accompany the wine, a folk singer in the background, a professional photographer to capture moments (in exchange for some Instagram promotion), a really passionate and knowledgeable staff member, a taste of some library wines, a lovely encounter with the local potter whose work is on sale, charcoal fires in the braziers, a stormy sky outside - just an excellent time and well worth the visit even without all the fun: the wines are all excellent!

Fantastic wines

I’d love to scare everyone away so I can drink all of their wine but I can’t. They have fantastic wines. I’ve been to Pasa Robles and Plymouth locations. Their staff is attentive and they serve great Zins.

Friendly place with knowledgeable staff who all know their wines very well. Wines are on the expensive side but well worth it.

Beautiful winery, vineyards and great Zinfandels
Apr. 2018 • Friends
This is one of the Turley "empire" best locations. Amador county grows excellent Zinfandels and Turley knows how to convert the grapes into great wine. The tasting room is ample, spacious, surrounded by and arcade on all sides, with hanging baskets and planters that give an air of happiness and prosperity. Inside, in addition to the central tasting counters, there are ceramic and wood carving exhibits from local artists. There is s small wine museum inside the tasting room, with selections going back a few years. The highlight, however, is the wine. Zinfandels come from various lots, altitudes and locations. They are all superb! If you only have time for one tasting, let this be it.

Their third location that I know of.

If you like a Zinfandel, you have come to the right place. We first found the winery in Paso Robles, many years ago. I still have a few bottles left from our last visit 2 years ago. We were amazed to be driving down Shenandoah Road a few years back to see the familiar Turley sign hanging on the left, had no idea that a move was being considered to this area. But in the early 1970’s during our first visit to Amador County, we knew Zinfandel was the main planting and back then, the wines were not so great, I have to say. But my, how things have changed. This is Napa from the 80’s, tasting is inexpensive, a good pour is provided, and the product has become very good. Weekends are the busy times here and parking lots are usually full. With these crowds have come good food and restaurants. You can have a day or two of good tasting and eating in Amador County.

Nice winery for a foothills visit with great reds
Nov. 2017 • Couples
Friendly staff and engaging red wines await you at this easy to reach destination. Lots of outside sitting areas for picnic lunches. A reasonable amount of parking. The staff is very helpful and guides you through their reds if needed. Their cabs are starting to really open up and we enjoyed their 2015 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon the most. Highly recommended. Cheers!
