French chateau

Evoking the look of an old French chateau, Karmere is a beautiful setting with nice tasting room staff and yummy wines.

Don’t forget to taste the flavored olive oils and other goodies too.

Great wine (Naughty Bawdy is my favorite), wonderful bubbly (yummy Sparkling Almond), friendly employees (Haley is so kind), and beautiful tasting room (feels like an old country French cottage) and beautiful scenery (gorgeous vineyards in the back). What's more to love?!?!

Love this winery.

Hayley does an excellent job in the tasting room. She and her staff are friendly and informative. Never feel rushed. The Hayley and Daisy Zinfandels are wonderful. We have been buying those futures for several years. I also love the Naughty Bawdy "jug" as an everyday (night) drinking wine. Their bubbly is delightful and always serve the Noel at Christmas. The tasting room is very pleasant with a beautiful setting.

Last year was our first time visiting Amador County wineries and we enjoyed it so much we decided to return again this year. We are staying again at the Sutter Creek Hotel. We picked up sandwiches at the Amador Market in Plymouth and headed out to Karmere. The setting is gorgeous. We really enjoyed meeting Hayley and hearing the history of the family winery. They have spared no expense and thought of everything in this gorgeous place. The wines were delicious and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed a wonderful Viognier with our picnic lunch and bought an excellent "Daisy Zin" to take home for the wine rack. We've been enjoying wine tasting all over the world for almost 40 years (Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Tuscany, Mendoza Argentina, Douro Portugal, La Rioja Spain) and Karmere ranks right up there with the others and will be a memorable place for us!

Went on a quiet Monday, the grounds were superb and the wine tasting informative. There is some very nice art work in the wine tasting room and the artist does the labels for the wine as well.

Amador Favorite!
Feb. 2017 • Friends
The award winning wines, amazing views and knowledgeable, friendly staff make this one of my favorite wineries. I am a wine club member and visit frequently and I always impressed by their consistently great wines along with an always friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Hayley, Paul and Mark are the best! I recommend buying a bottle to share and bringing some snacks while sitting on the patio.

Certainly in the "upper half" of Amador wineries

It's the Wandering Yank here. I've driven past Karmere several times but never stopped - there are only so many wineries we can get through in a given day. Mrs. Yank had been here before and thought highly of it, so we stopped for a visit over the weekend.

It's a bit all by itself but very easy to get to. The tasting room is bright and airy. There is a large picnic area in the back and what looks like a locale for weddings. The views of the vineyards are excellent.

Wine is excellent, good enough that we brought home 3 reds. Tasting staff is knowledgeable and welcoming.

2 thumbs up!
