Wineries are there to sell you wine. How they promote the up sell is entirely up to them. Their up sell is how wonderful you are treated as their guest. Yes, you are treated as a guest, not a paying customer. Going wine tasting mid week was the best idea ever! We arrived at Wilderotter around 4 in the afternoon.... More

It's the Wandering Yank here. Mrs. Yank and I spent the weekend with friends at the annual Big Crush event this past weekend. This was one of 11 (!) wineries we visited. We agreed - we thought Wilderotter had better wine than all but 9 of them (check out my Il Gioiella review - they tied in our opinion). Plus... More

I had been gifted a nice bottle of wine from Wilderotter last year, so we made sure to visit while we were in the area. This is one of the few tasting rooms that does not refund your tasting fee with purchase, though they provide a small cheese platter to pair with your wine as you taste.

My wife and I were given a wonderful winery experience and learn so much that day. The tastings were generous and extensive. The lady at the bar was very knowledgeable. Enjoyed your winery so much. We bought several bottles that day. Overall a great experience. We will be back.

We cannot say enough about the experience we had at Wilderotter. From the amazing service and attention we received at our tasting to the delicious cheese pairing it was really above and beyond! Their wine portfolio is so broad that there is something for everyone and Ravel in the tasting room is so knowledgeable. They have really wrapped an entire... More

First time to visit the Plymouth area. A few good wines and a complimentary cheese plate served with the wines. Cute wine gifts available for purchase.

If you like white wines, make this your stop as they pour more than any other winery I have been to in the valley. I found the staff to be knowledgeable and very friendly.

Wilderotter was recommended by another winery owner. What's that tell you?!?! I could stop here but I won't. We loved this place. It's not a big chrome building with mediocre wine. It's a great, small tasting room that is staffed by some very knowledgeable people telling you about their wine and wine in general. Honest, open, and hella nice. Sam... More

My wife and I stopped at Wilderotter for the first time a few months ago, and did the full tasting. My wife said it best: it was that rare vineyard where every single wine was excellent. Usually you find a couple at a given winery, but Wilderotter has a full menu of top-notch wines. Susan who served us that first... More

Wilderotter Vineyard was our first destination on a second day of wine tasting in Amador County, and our focus was wineries on Shenendoah School Road. The tasting room sits like a little cupcake on the side of the road. It is a pleasant space with room for perhaps a dozen tasters at the bar. As was our approach at other... More
