Holly Hill has consistently good Rhone Varietals and a beautiful view off the the deck to boot. They are a must stop during the Rocks and Rhones event Memorial Weekend.

We make the rounds in Sonoma, Napa and the Sierra Foothill wineries of California. Napa has become expensive to taste, snobby and crowded. Sonoma seems to be moving in that direction. Holly's Hill is a refreshing combination of Great Wine, Friendly foothill atmosphere, free tasting, fantastic facility and amazing views of the foothills and across the Central Valley of California... My husband and I have visited several of California's wine regions. This was our first time in the El Dorado Region. The vineyard was recommended by some good friends of ours who knew how special these wines were. We had sampled them before we got there, so we knew we were in for a treat and it was our first... Holly's Hill Vineyard is the go-to place in the El Dorado Hills for Rhone style wine. If you're not sure what that means and do enjoy (love) red wine, this is the vineyard for you. My wife and I met in southern France's "Provence" and this is what that areas wine is like. Holly's Hill crafts the wine masterfully. We... More

We wine taste all around the world and we enjoyed our visit here to wine taste. The views are fabulous and the wines very good. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed their Mouvedres and the blends. Reminded us of the wines we drink when we visit southern France. Definitely worth going back.

Located off the beaten track, this boutique winery is warm and welcoming. From the cat who greets you as you arrive, to the informative staff, to stepping out onto the patio, it just works. The view from the back of the store is identical to the beautiful view we had from our gite in southern France. Our hostess was engaging,... More

We recently visited Holly's Hill Vineyard on the recommendation of some friends. We do a lot of wine tasting in the El Dorado and Amador counties and had tried Holly's Hill about 10 years ago when they were getting started. Back then the wines were pretty good, but we gave them a miss for a few years. Wow, were we... More

Family owned and operated this gem of a winery produces some of the best Rhône style wines available anywhere, and they are priced fairly. The winery hosts regular food and wine pairing events out on the lawn, that showcase Josh's culinary excellence. Carrie's palate is spot-on as she guides, coaxes and encourages the wine from crush to release. Tom and... More

This was our first time to HH, but others in our group have been here, and one local is in the wine club. This days they were doing a wine & salami pairing. We arrived about 2pm and there was a nice but manageable crowd on hand. Outside they had the special wine & salami pairings while inside the tasting... More
