This was a 3-3.5 mile round trip hike. Most of the terrain was an easy flat trail. The last portion of the trail is a walk on a sand dune. The ocean views were beautiful and I enjoyed all the informational signs along the trail....More

We stopped here on one leg of a California road trip. We arrived early (before 9am) and were the only people there. It is about a 1.5 mile hike to the elephant seals. Most of the hike is on well-maintained paths, but the last section...More

We took the docent-led tour of Ano Nuevo under the equal access program (one of our group has a disability and couldn't walk the trail over the sand dunes) What a wonderful service this is for the disabled...we are so grateful to the park and...More

I took my kids here over 20 years ago and remember it being quite a walk to see the elephant seals then and it still is. It's just that it is in total loose deep sand for the second half of the walk. But don't...More

This was a very fun tour. A bit of a hike but worth it. Be prepared for a long walk. Guides were a wealth of information and very nice.

Took our 5 year old granddaughter to see elephant seals. Got less than 100' feet from them (definitely close enough to SMELL them!!!). Warning that it is an almost 1-mile walk to the seals, and there is shade at only one place where docents usually...More

It is a long hike to get to the viewing spots, but mostly level and soft easy walking. You can definitely not stop there for just a quick peek. There was a slight incline over a dune, and a little sandy walking, but most should...More
