About
Steinbeck Vineyards and Winery is a family owned and operated, multi-generation business. We offer fine wines in a rustic but elegant tasting room. Small lot, handcrafted by Steve Glossner, our wines speak the essence of our vineyards and of Paso Robles. We sell the vast majority of the fruit from our historic vineyards to large local wineries. We offer extensive vineyard tours in our historic Jeeps, giving guest a look behind the scenes of wine growing.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We saw this winery while biking on the Union Wine Trail. This is a multi-generational family business. Brian greeted us and told us about the wine making process at Steinbeck Winery. We've had a great time, and the wine was truly exceptional. Will definitely visit again when we're in the area.

All of my thanks to Howie and the entire Steinbeck family. The Viognier and the Crash blend are a delight.
Book the tour of the vineyard. Howie is a great teacher and he clearly loves his families land.

We loved every wine we tasted. After 10+ years living in the bay area, this is the first wine club we've ever joined. The woman pouring the wine was very sweet and interesting. I also love all they do for our soldiers. Glad to support them.

My honey and I are loyal Steinbeck devotees and had the pleasure of introducing Cindy and staff to friends of ours. Cindy took us on a jeep tour of the vineyards in their vintage Willy Widowmaker - such fun!
Leslie is great as well as their newest addition at the tasting bar, whose name I didn't catch. The Steinbeck wines are a treat, with their Cab and Zin favorites. Their 50% off case sale always beckons us as we love their Crash blend as well. We can't wait to taste the next go round of the Voice!
This is a great winery with even better wines and super nice people. We continue to bring friends there because they are that good.

Once upon a time in California, when most of the area was agricultural, very rural, many wineries were just farms without big investors and infrastructure…Steinbeck Winery.

A child who ran away from his farm only to become an accomplished bandleader? Remembering a fallen World War II aircraft and the airmen who survived and those that did not? Hear about the drama inside a multigenerational farm family, and then the main actors walk into the tasting room to greet you? Visit Steinbeck Vineyards outside Paso Robles and experience something unique in this exciting part of the Central Coast. While you are here, taste some excellent wine that gets better when you hear the stories.

We took the Jeep tour and we were fortunate enough to have Howie give us the tour. What a great time we had. To hear the history of the ranch as told by the person who first planted the grapes was amazing. The story of the plane crash was incredible. He made the the trip to Paso Robles well worth the detour we took to go there. The wine tasting with Debbie was very enjoyable.

Before visiting this winery what stood out the most was
all the wonderful things other wineries and locals had to say about this place. Not just about their delicious wines but the Steinbeck family as well.
After trying some wine and meeting Cindy we could see for ourselves what everyone else was talking about. She is one of the nicest persons you will ever meet. My husband and I had the opportunity to do a jeep tour of the vineyard, over 600 acres, which was an incredible experience.
This winery is very passionate about their wines. 1 family, 7 generations! Tasting fee is $10 which is waived if you purchase a bottle and let's be honest why wouldn't you want to take a bottle home? While sipping on some wine you can learn about the history behind the winery.
Definitely include Steinbeck on your next visit to Paso Robles, you will not be disappointed!

By far the best and most interesting tour in Paso! Jump in the 1958 Willie's Jeep with Cindy and tour the 600 acres that have been in her family for seven generations. Learn the history of the land, Paso Robles and the crash of a USN B26 on the property. Hear of the rich history of the ranch, vines and how this farm supports many wineries in the area. This truly was a spectacular afternoon. Arrive early so you get to spend more time with Cindy and you may be lucky enough to see Howie out working the fields.

Predominantly a farm, only 1% of the grapes are made into Steinbeck wine. Very friendly staff which included the parents and adult children of the owners.
Take the Willies keep tour with Cindy to see the vineyards and learn the secrets of growing wine grapes
For those interested Cindy can talk about the grafting of new vines into the old from a Christian perspective
