My morning hiking group loves the easy access off 280, sufficient parking on weekdays, and clean bathrooms. The drinking water fountains include a dog level fountain, regular fountain, and water bottle filler. Several trails offer a variety of flat and hilly terrain as well as...More

This is an easy hike through fields, following several different trails. Wild turkeys were on our trek today, which was kind of cool. Parking during the weekends can be tough, dogs on leash are okay, and there is a ranger station and clean toilets .

Called the ranger station yesterday after the rain finished up to ask if the seasonal trails were going to be closed. Very informative ranger who informed me they would remain open due to the warming weather. A group of us, 3 intermediate, 1 novice, and...More

Palo Alto has spent many years transforming this space. It is not large. But it is refreshing and a good 1-2 hour walk in nature. Hard to imagine you can get away from civilization in the mid-penisula so fast. We enjoyed the walk and setting...More

Great place for a hike with kids. Several paths, several lengths. Nice views. Will have to come back in spring when everything is green.

The trails are easy and not terribly long, plus the parking is plentiful (at least on weekday mornings) making it a good alternative to The Dish Trail.

Just a simple walking trail amidst rolling hills and California oak savannah. Kestrel sittings and handsome scenery - walk was over fairly quickly. Not at all strenuous but an enjoyable place to walk and facilities and interpretive displays well done. Clean bathrooms and good drinking...More

The Preserve is a wonderful place to hike and watch for birds. The trails are well kept and easy to follow and are used by mountain bikers and walkers. The parking lot can fill up on the weekend so it's good to get there early.

There are higher parks and open spaces, but Arastradero is minutes from the freeway, yet quiet in a few yards from the parking lot. For runners, a terrific place to stretch the legs and build endurance.
