We did the Downtown walk twice while we were there, once in the day and once at night. Parking was tough as there was a Gala that night and the streets were packed. We enjoyed all the sights and sounds and enjoyed tohe Stars on the sidewalks.

There are two Palm Springs...the tourist area which is central downtown...and locals which is on either end. After many trips we now stay away from the central part because it's way too crowded and really touristy. However - if it's your first trip then check it out. Don't miss the restaurants on the side streets. There are some good ones... More

If you are exploring the downtown area of Palm Springs and strolling past shops, you will notice statues along the way and stars in the sidewalks commemorating movie stars, entertainers, and other people important to the area. We recognized a number of names, but many are fairly obscure. It's worth a look if you are already in the area.

Weird mix of big names (Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, mid-level stars and then city recognized people -had never heard of them). It is one of those must do's.

The walk is pretty much dedicated to people who are significant to Palm Springs and not necessarily known anywhere else. However the shops are interesting and there are lots of good places to pause and people-watch.

Very convenient - the stars are located on sidewalks in the downtown area so it's easy to look at them as you walk by. No need to make a special trip - they are easy to find where the "action" is in Palm Springs. Lots of well-known people but also a lot of illustrious unknowns. I liked that they included... More

Easy to find downtown. The list is short so didn't take long. Lots of unknowns. Wouldn't go out of my way to see it but interesting to read as you walk along.

Strolling down Palm Canyon Drive is always fun regardless of whether you are going to eat, window-shopping or just enjoying the day. What makes this venue special is looking down to see the stars. This visual reminder of Hollywood celebrities and notable people of the past who lived in or visited Palm Springs is a blast to the past.
