Read about this in the tour book and wasn't sure what to expect. It looks like a moonscape driving in but once you get to the canyon, it was amazing. I'm from the east coast and this whole desert thing is so fascinating to me. We walked a little over a mile into Palm canyon before turning around and then... More

There are a few spots here that I would call perfect. Desert landscapes are beautiful for there shape edges and the Palm Canyon area provided just what I was hoping to experience.

We walked through this place this morning with awe. What a magnificent place. Even in the heat of the summer, the place speaks of history and pre-history.

Whether you have all day or an hour - Palm Canyon has something for everyone - The first trail is the shortest - .75 mile - and very picturesque - at the first parking lot - the cool refreshing breeze and the singing mountain stream great you - the boulders pictured in the review stand out against the clear blue... If you don't play golf or tennis, the Palm Springs area may bore you. We looked for interesting sights to tour, and this oasis was worth the $9 entrance fee. The palm forest protects you from the heat, and we enjoyed the experience. Many of the trails seem to lead you to dry, exposed areas of the desert, so we... More

This oasis is on an Indian reservation (Agua Caliente of the Cahuilla Indians) in glitzy Palm Springs. The oasis area is actually far away from downtown or any human activity. It is different from other oases anywhere in the CA desert in that the water comes up from deep under the earth (geothermal) rather than as the result of mountain... More
