this was hot but beautiful hike. The trails are not marked well.. we didn't know which trail we were on, you are not going to get lost.. just wanted to hike the bump and grind trail and ended up on a different one.. not sure...More

The best way to learn that the desert is home to more than just rocks and sand is to stop in and check out the Visitor Center. There are lesser displays with descriptions at the tram station entrance to the park, too.
We have taken the wildflower and morning bird tours. They were so interesting we decided to join the Friends of the Desert to help maintain this wilderness gem. The volunteers are fun, enthusiastic and a wealth of information.

I recommend the Palm Springs Aerial Tram. You will have a nice gift shop, restaurant and look out capabilities even for you on crutches when you reach the top. You will need someone with you on the tram to stabalize you... More
I recommend the Palm Springs Aerial Tram. You will have a nice gift shop, restaurant and look out capabilities even for you on crutches when you reach the top. You will need someone with you on the tram to stabalize you as it gets a little rocky when passing the support beams, but it is breathtakenly beautiful.
