This trail is for ambitious and nimble footed hikers. Parts are extremely narrow with steep drop-offs. Find places to stop and enjoy the wonderful views, otherwise keep your eye on the trail directly in front of you.

Bring lots of water, sunscreen and hats. We hiked all the way to the top (about one hour) - 2.25 miles and the way down was about 50 minutes. It was cloudy (hard to believe in August) so it was much easier to hike (without...More

Go with triple the water you think you need. Be prepared with good foot wear and some energy bars/fruit. Hats and sunglasses and get ready to sweat! Such a great hike! Minimum age should be 10 years for this one.

You can make it easy or hard. We don’t even attempt it in the summer months. Lots of folks sometimes but who cares. Enjoy the hike and the views.

Don't go if you don't know how to hike in our desert. And then don't go alone.Take plenty of water and a medical kit.

Great trail for a couple hour hike, not too difficult and nice views of the valley. As always when hiking in the desert, be sure to bring along your sunscreen and water.

We were spoiled by our other hikes. We could not believe how many people were on this trail. It was a nice trail in the sun. Be sure to wear a hat and bring water and sunscreen. The trail was not too difficult.

I was the one who originally made the clockwise suggestion. The path is well marked and a lot of people on it even tho it was a weekday. I was delighted to hear that I was not the only one who preferred the clockwise hike.

Off Painters Path behind the shopping mall in Palm Desert. It's literally in the city.

I have taken my dog on this trail not knowing for sure. Someone told me they weren't allowed. I did see other dogs though. Definitely keep on leash.
