This hidden gem is a real treasure. Kids of all ages and adults will find this place fascinating. The park is divided into two main sections- North America and Africa. The North American exhibit has a beautiful walk through with close-ups of native animals like mountain lions and badgers and golden eagles. The African exhibit is based around a village... More

Well worth a visit. We only went to the plant displays (they have animals to). Many desert plants are displayed and identified. Good, posters with info too. A shuttle is available for an extra charge. We saw lots of hummingbirds and an employee showed us their tiny bird nests.

Great little zoo with a lot of events and presentations by zookeepers. Recommend to get in early to see the most interaction and presentations. Most of the hospital viewing is in the morning. We fed giraffes with a very little wait. The butterfly exhibit is leaving soon, so stop to have butterfly's land on you. Just under 2 mile walk... More

We weren't really sure what this was about, (other that plants and some animals) but have been wanting to check it out for years. It was confusing at first as we had no idea which direction to take, and they did not give us a 'map' of the place. But a worker told us to go that way for the... More

What an adorable zoo. It was clear that the animals were well cared for and the staff enjoyed their jobs. It was above and beyond most normal zoo trips, the offer giraffe feeding and if you plan it right you can see the running of the cheetahs ( 11 am ). Also I found it charming that the zoo stayed... Not your average gardens or zoo. The zoo part has mostly African animals you won't see in many places, including giraffes, water buffalo, leopards, etc. Feeding times are listed - make sure you see the leopard run. The garden part showcases various different desert climates; after 2 or 3 you can see how they differ, which was fascinating. There is... More

We made the spontanious decision to check out this zoo and were so glad we did. It's really more like a zoo and a garden and a hiking trail all in one. A lot of the exhibits are off the cement paths and you have to hike on gravel or sand so dress accordingly! They have an Africa and North... More

The Zoo is nicely laid out with some great exhibits - Giraffes, Leopards, Mountain Goats, Gazelles and more - you can even take a hike into the desert to check out all the wildflowers in bloom. I would highly recommend. And they have a wonder detail model train exhibit for the kids.

We loved the model train set up. Plan to spend some time enjoying the wonderful craftsmanship of our local builders.
