My first time deep sea fishing and I'm glad I experienced it but really, not my cup of tea. This review is for first-timer OCD people like me who like to be prepared. Here's what you can do/bring: 1. Reserve your spot on the boat ahead of time online 2. Buy fishing license online otherwise you can buy it there... More

We went out on a half-day trip on the Speed Twin. The crew were very helpful and worked extremely hard taking fish off everyone's hooks and untangling everyone's lines. The boat wasn't even filled to capacity and there were just too many people fishing to have a good time. Lines kept crossing over and people were less than a foot... More

Been on a few of these, pack the fishermen in tight with rods and let them try and find some space on the boat to fish. Santa Barbara options manage to do this without feeling so hemmed in you can't move. These guys do not. 50 people on the boat (supposed to carry 70) no chance of getting any space... More

Crew were very attentive, ensuring people were okay (from a seasickness standpoint). Good food and drink in the galley. Saw lots of grey whales and porpoise. Rough seas, but the captain and crew did everything to keep people safe and happy.

I have fished many times on the Speed Twin. The boat is beautiful, but the crew is what really sets this trip apart. The crew and the captain of the boat go above and beyond to ensure that you are having a great time and catching fish. They never complain about untangling lines and are always super fast to respond... More

Enjoy the spectator sport of sea life in action. If you time it just right, you can witness the amazing migration of whales. We saw a pod of humpbacks, dolphins and seals. A three hour tour is just right! (yes, you can humm the tune to Gilligan's Island but rest assured you will get back to harbor safely!) Onboard they... More

I am a newcomer to sport fishing and now hooked. Mainly because it's easy to catch fish when you have great deck hands who are willing to teach and help cause they know their clientele. Some are a couple have been a little crusty but they are always eager to help. Been on a few trips this year. Last week... More

Courteous staff from the booking to the crew on board the Gentlemen. Caught plenty of fish and the family and I had a great time. A special thanks to Sunny the cook, who not only prepared excellent food and made us feel welcome, but also went the extra mile by bringing us refreshments while we were fishing.

My sons' karate Master has booked this for 25+ years annually (on original Hustler and now New Hustler) and my son and husband went last year. This year my daughter and I joined the boys, along with other karate members and family. We also had staff from Sago's ( http://www.sagostavern.com/ ) along on the trip both years (more on why... My husband and I took an half day fishing trip on the Speed Twin. We had so much fun! The crew was great, the boat was more then spacious, and the fish were plenty. Make sure you have cash, you will need it for entering the biggest fish contest, having your fish filleted, and tipping the crew.
