Best trail ride ever! 2 hours on horseback, most of which is in the Redwood National Forrest. You can see the old growth areas which were amazing. The guides are well versed in the forestry and history of the area. So beautiful.
We loved riding horses into the redwood forest. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. The only bad part was the guide got a little impatient with my son that had a leg cramp and cried and had a hard time dismounting. He...More
My daughter and I were on a girls trip to Northern California and decided this would be a great way to experience the Redwoods. We were EARLY and our "Guide" Kimberly never greeted us, seemed upset and was extremely rude to my daughter when she...More
We were scheduled for the 10AM 2-hour Majestic tour. The instructions said to arrive 15 minutes early. We arrived 5 minutes early due to circumstances outside of our control. When we arrived, the other 4 riders were mounting their horses. One guide led them off....More
This is a great experience. Christine and her girls had the horses ready for our family of four when we arrived and we all enjoyed our time riding high up among the redwoods. Seeing the redwoods in and of itself is great, being able to...More
Well, our family of four - two kids ages 13 and 8 - wanted to do horseback riding into the Redwoods. I checked out the reviews of the Redwood Creek Buckarettes and they seemed pretty good. First off, it is a great way to see...More
The Buckarettes know horses and are good tour guides giving information about the trees that we hadn't read elsewhere. We got to ride through part of the Redwood National Forest that we wouldn't have had access to otherwise. We both ride occasionally and thought the...More
My 8-year-old son and I were fortunate to have a personal Magestic ride with our guide, Kimberly. The day was sunny and warm. Our horses were all ready saddled when we arrived, so we got an early start on the trail.
Kimberly stopped the horses...More

There is only one outhouse along the trail after we leave the trailhead. The National Park horse trail takes us through various stages of the redwood forest. We see dense second growth forest and many majestic old growth giants as we wind our way up to the top of the mountain. Halfway through the ride we stop in a small clearing for a picnic lunch of sandwiches and snacks that we pack with us on the horses.
The four hour ride is the most difficult because we climb up over 800' in elevation and then have to drop back down again. Our temperatures are very mild here and the forest is also cooler so we do recommend bringing a coat and/or sweatshirt along for the ride.
Happy Trails ~
