Took the train tonight down to the baseball game. Sooo much better than driving and parking. Train was on time and got there in plenty of time! This pic is the view from the train in Carlsbad.

Taking the coaster between Oceanside and San Diego or points along the way is a wonderful and relaxing way to explore the San Diego County coast. From the southern terminus you can catch your cruise ship, explore the harbor, visit downtown or the gaslamp district, catch a trolley inland or south to the border or many other places around San... After living in Oceanside for over a year we thought it was high time we checked out this Coaster thing! OMG! What a great idea. We boarded at one end of the line, Escondido, and road all the way to the Oceanside Transportation Hub. The train stopped many times and in areas we had never seen! The countryside was wonderful... The Coaster ride from Oceanside to downtown San Diego or reverse, is a great day outing. You arrive in the city at a good spot to head out walking. If you are traveling it is close to the airport and train as well, give the freeway a rest and enjoy yourself, just miss commute hours.

the best way to see the city of San Diego and not have to deal with traffic. With a coaster pass you can transfer to the trolley system and go all the way to the border if you wished and the cost is very reasonable

My husband and I use the train a lot when we don't want to drive. The tickets are reasonable, especially for seniors

We took the coaster from Oceanside to San Diego. It was simple to purchase a ticket, clean and comfortable. The buses were easy to get onto from the train station.

It's an easy and beautiful trip on the Coaster from San Diego to Oceanside. We fly into San Diego and hop on the train for a $5.50 ride one way up to Oceanside where we hop off and walk to our timeshare condo.

Coaster is a beautiful way to enjoy riding down the coast. Much of the ride is coastal and you can sit back and relax with a beautiful view. The biggest negative is the schedule, have to be sure you pay attention to it because it is very limited so you need to plan ahead. A bit pricey, if compare with... More
