Just like I remember when I lived in the Bay Area. This spot was a great place to hang out and catch up with friends. The late is amazing and filled with lots of activity. Love this spot.

Rented a verbose nearb.y and enjoyed the closeness of uncrowned nature, a nice walk around the perimeter of about a mile, the opportunity to sit at picnic tables and chat. It wa every nice break from the hustle of the city.

Lively area around a pretty lake. It makes for a nice walk. Also many good places to eat adjacent . Often there are drummers that draw an audience. Small kids play area that doesn’t look like much.

This pond represents something that might have been but is now missing from Oakland. It's ringed by traffic and discontent. Still, it boasts a lot of nifty features from sports to museums, restaurants to picnics, gardens to boating, courthouse to library, and sculpture to Fairyland....More

very nice even sidewalk to walk around the lake on. There are nice city views and there is a kids play park at one end.

Lot of people like this Pizza restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating(preferred). Offers regular and deep dish pizza and we sampled the cheese regular pie and it was ok but can’t compare to NY area pizza.

Every day of the week you will find a homogenous array of persons populating the Lake. Some will just walk to take in the sites and smells. Others are working on their bodies. They skate, rent the scooters and bicycles placed strategically around this three-mile...More

It's hard to believe that a beautiful place Lake Merritt exists in the middle of Oakland. It's about 3 miles all around the lake. As you walk it, you'll come across many different sights: gondolas, crew, geese, people walking their dogs, etc. Take a side...More

Being from Chicago and knowing the beauty of a grand lake as your backyard, Lake Merritt does not disappoint. Gorgeous at sundown, filled with music in the background. My everyday meditation when I'm in Oakland.
