We were met in the parking lot by our friendly guide. We toured the grounds and one of the hot houses. Lots of information about the cultivation and processing of luffas. There is a small gift shop that sells luffas, soaps, creams and other items. This tour is free.

What an unexpected treat this was! My family is from Central America so growing up I knew about Luffas (although they had a completely different name). So to my surprise, this Luffa Farm was around the corner from where we were staying at in Nipomo. I didn't even know what a Luffa was, until I looked it up. Curious about... More

We live in the area and passed this place many times. We finally took the plunge and stopped. The proprietress took us on an informal tour of the greenhouse and explained the history of her operation and how the luffa are grown. This property also includes a "medicinal" herb garden and a small shop selling some of the products grown... More

We went to visit the luffa farm after driving by once and then being sent back by a local. It was pretty cool to see that they grow on a vine like a squash or something. The luffas themselves were a bit expensive, about $9 for an eight inch luffa, or smaller ones in little bags for $6. I of... More

I get a real kick out of finding quirky, off-the-beaten-path attractions that I know your average tourist would never find, or choose to go to (over a second day at Disney) even if they did. Well the Luffa Farm is definitely one of them! The farm is one family’s labour of love and, meeting the father, their passion doesn’t fail... More

I love such small places with dedicated, knowledgeable owners. The tour was really informative and educational. Lovely wee shop could be especially useful for buying Christmas presents.

When you arrive at this family farm they will give you a tour of the loofahs , growing in their many greenhouses. From spring to fall they are growing. They explain how the loofahs grow and how theirs are the only available in the USA that are not imported and treated with chemicals. They have a nice little gift shop... More

We received our own private tour which was extremely informative about the luffas and the impact of the drought on agriculture. The owner is very pleasant and we laughed a lot. They have a variety of other products for sale and purchased some as we are limited with motorcycles. Lots of handcraft yard ornements to show their other talents. Highly... More

What a gem we found in Nipoma. Throughly enjoyable..informative & educational. The lady that owns it was so sweet & accommodating. The tour is free but she also does it for groups for $5 a person she gives a more in depth tour & serves lemonade & cookies she bakes. A worthwhile stop when you are in the area.
