It's a boat for cars!
Jun. 2021
What's to review? The crew does an excellent job as they have been for decades! The only issue is the drivers/passengers who like to get out of their cars and the pedestrians that block the cars at the ramp that hold up the process!

Quick, cheap, Fun

Just a fun way to get between Balboa the Island, and the 'Mainland' Fun by car or just as a passenger. The boats are in constant motion so there's little wait, especially as a walk on. Cars, in the summer, may take longer, as there are but three to a ferry, but again, they are in constant motion. Do it, it's fun

Boats for Cars

I use the Balboa Island Ferry just about every time I'm in the area. This last trip we did some bicycle riding on the island and used the Ferry on the trip over and back. I think it was under a dollar for each person with a bike. It's always a short and enjoyable ride watching the boats on the water.

Wonderful ferry trip, perfect for selfies or a video
Apr. 2021
Not to be missed by tourists, this very short ferry trip is frequently taken by locals. It's a great experience whether it's sunny, overcast, foggy, or rainy. The very best time is at sunset on a clear day, when the moon is rising from the east, and the sun is setting at the west. The trip can be taken from either end, in a car, on foot, or on a bicycle or motor bike.

Affordable and Saves Time

Shortest ferry ride in history but saves you a lot of time to get between Balboa Island and the Newport Beach Peninsula. It only cost $1.25 for individuals. It can fit 3 cars and bikers. They run two at a time so it goes fast❤️

Still Great but Prices have Gone UP
Mar. 2021
It's hard not to love the simple pleasure of this very Americana experience. We take the Ferry from Balboa Island to Balboa as often as we can.

The last few times we did it I thought the prices may have gone up. Still an incredible value, but you may want to keep a couple more quarters in your pocket. For 2 people in a car it is now $3.50. I'll attach a pic so you can figure out what to expect.

A couple suggestions: Take exact change if possible ... say HI to the Skipper, some of which have been operating those Ferries for decades ... and take your camera. You never know what, or who, you will see.

Enjoy!

Fun On the Water

Short little sail across the water to the island - 3 car limit - we took our bikes... $1.50 per lot's of fun! ...although Balboa Island is not very bike friendly.
