This shop allows for novice and expert kayakers. You can choose which kayak you want, for advanced or novice users. The staff is super friendly and help the first time kayaker get in and out of the kayak without dumping them in the ocean. I cannot emphasize the great staff enough. They have the entire set up including; kayak, paddle,... More

Thanks to the great tips from the owner we got a wonderful paddle around Morro Bay. I am totally inexperienced at kayaking, but he helped me with some basic things. The tips about the current were also very helpful. Loved the beauty of all the wildlife on the water. And when he heard we were heading to Santa Cruz the... More

Great place. Very friendly, knowledgeable guys on the dock running the show. Prices were right at $20/hour, kayaks comfy and ready to go. No bulky paperwork and we were on the water in less than 10 minutes. Great tips on where to go and how to best handle the tide.

We had a lovely 2 hours paddling over the sandy spit, getting out and walking around, and paddling back.

Loved the fact that Dennis gave us lots of instruction and helped us in and out of our single kayaks. He even suggested where to paddle to see the sights. I would highly recommend this place over the others. He was open early and we missed the wind!

My wife and I have rented kayaks in a number of places, some a little more challenging than others, but always fun. If you are a first-timer, I would highly recommend Morro Bay as the place to get your feet wet. (haha!) You are within a well protected bay where the water is pretty smooth and the paddling is easy.... More

Kayak Horizons is fairly priced. Their staff really helped with some insight on how to approach the Bay, suggested places to paddle to in order to see wildlife and “best practices.” If you are up for it (ask staff) – I highly recommend paddling out to the Morro Bay State Park sandbar for a little picnic. Maybe pack a sandwich... More

20 dollars an hour for tandem, easy, walked up along main path within 10 minutes in kayak. We were able to view the rock closer from another view, as well as see the sea lions on a wooden plank. If you do nit hear them you might miss them. They blend and there are many of them. We were back... More

At first I thought that kayaking around Morro Bay would be boring, but at least I would get some exercise. Well, I was wrong. We took the advise of the kayak shop owner and use the current to our advantage. With the marine layer low, we started towards the north and came upon a small dock in the water covered... More

We have used Horizons for several group activities and they have always provided us with good boats and great service at a great price. They give group discounts unlike some of the other rental companies.
