great place to taste good wine and catch a bite

the wine was flowing and the food (hummus and panini) hit the spot for wine tasting, and the view was great.

This used to be one of our favorite places to go while in Monterey. Over the years they have made changes to squeeze every dime out of their customers. Our most recent visit was this past Saturday, we arrived around 12:00 to an completely empty restaurant/wine bar - that should have been our first clue. We had 5 adults and... More

After a long walk to the Cannery Row area we decided to stop for lunch. We chose this spot because we thought it would be quieter then the main restaurants along the Row and we were right. This wine bar/restaurant is upstairs and out of the way but worth finding. It has a nice vibe to the interior, a spectacular... More

My wife and I visited A Taste of Monterey. It is a small market and wine bar located on top of one of the buildings in Cannery Row area of Monterey, CA. The view is nice ... but that is about it. Wine tasting is $20, and the wines are of poor quality. They use a measuring pour spout, so... More

We do offer a $10 tasting option. Both tasting fee amounts are rebated with a purchase of two bottles or more of wine. The tasting line ups of wines are changed every month. More

Had a fantastic appetizer lunch there while watching the ocean from the second story table. Also, an interesting store filled with wines at a decent price and lots of wine related gift and decorator items.

Was looking for a glass of wine and a view. Found it. However, the staff wasn't very friendly. Wine was good, acceptably priced. Had one appitizer, the bacon wrapped date, a little too greasy.

My husband and I were visiting Monterey for only two evenings and we wanted to go to a place that was non-touristy and had excellent food. It was very difficult to find something that got consistent good reviews on TA and it was not a Taurus trap. We had eaten at one the night before and spent a fortune for... More

What a nice place. I'm not sure what I expected but I didn't expect this charming, laid-back place. The bistro/wine market is located in a shopping plaza along Cannery Row. You can go to the bar and do a tasting of Monterey area wines or you can sit at a table and order the "table flights" and food. We were... More

This is steps from Monterey aquarium hidden on the top floor of a tourist mall. Seek it out! Fantastic view of the bay, wine tasting and great clam chowder! Perfect place for lunch after the aquarium.

Take a short break from your day on the Row and treat yourself to some great local wines and a stunning view. Bring binoculars, a good camera and an appetite. The wines are worth a visit on their own, but the flatbreads, crab cakes, sausage trio, and smoked salmon plate are all solid options either on their own or as... More
