We decided to take the 17-mile drive near Monterey so that we could visit Pebble Beach. The drive is lovely, but unless you really want to see Pebble Beach, there's really no need to pay the $10 entry fee, as there are plenty of places...More

This is a drive that most tourists do. It's worth it because of the views. There are many places to pull off the 2 lane road and stop and view the ocean. Very busy during the summer, and on weekends. Drive slowly and enjoy.

GPS devices have trouble navigating here but fortunately friendly employees help confused travelers find their way in, way around, and the way to get gasoline. Not for sissies.

Did this as part of our coastal road trip. Didn't mind the $10 price and there was a few interesting vistas and it is a more scenic route to Carmel from Monterey than the highway. Kids oohed at a few houses but not that big...More

Had to pay $10 to do the drive, but the scenery was worth it. The beach areas are beautiful and the homes are $$$$. Saw the deer on the golf course, went to see the lone cyprus.

It was ok for 10 bucks. It all depends what you're interested in. If you like pretty views of fancy houses, golf courses, the beach then it's worth the trip.

This is definitely worth doing whilst in Monterey or a nearby area! Absolutely beautiful scenery and views and lots of stopping places. Lots of wildlife to see on the coast too. It's worth the $10 per car.

I really enjoyed the views driving along the 17-Mile drive. The ocean is spectacular and we saw some wildlife and took a lot of photos.

Yes, I believe the closest place to rent bikes is at Lovers Point Park (Adventures by the Sea). Also, bikes can ride the road for free!
