Dog friendly eateries on wharf

Monterey isn't the most dog-friendly place in NorCal, but here's a good secret: there are several restaurants on the wharf you can bring your dog.

Splendid views! Large wharf, so even with a lot of people it is still accessible and enjoyable. Like the historical factor.

DON'T EAT HERE - just take a look around. It's a typical tourist trap and only good for the view - expensive eats that are actually quie awful!

Okay. This is really simple. If you're thinking about which wharf to visit, here or SF, this is my pick. Both are tourist traps but this one still has much more charm and small town feel to it. I loved it. The SF one is so blatantly geared to suck the last penny out of you that is disgusting.

We love the shops and restaurants. Always visit when we are in Monterey. Cafe Fina and Chris' whale watching are a must and Harbor House has wonderful gifts and souvenirs.

Yes, there are shops with tourist junk, and I have bought a few items. The restaurants can be pricey, since rent there is not cheap. Nonetheless, it is part of Monterey history, and affords some nice views of the bay and yacht harbor. You can get more views of the bay at the end of the wharf where the whale-watching... More

It's the tacky nasty version of the Fisherman's Wharf in San Fran. Don't waste your time like we did. Sure, go down to the water and see the seals sun bathing nearby. Otherwise, find the more quaint parts of town if you are just passing through and skip this one.

This place is just pretty and you get to see otter sun bathing in rocks! However the pier was a little lackluster but had plenty of places to eat:) and everyone had specials on clam chowder! They had shops with local made products which is nice! As well as had a nice walk from/back to cannery row and aquarium.

We enjoyed the restaurants offering their chowders out on the wharf and found a good place to eat. Lots of choice and great views of the bay and boats!

This place is a true tourist trap but also a place most first-time tourists to Monterey eventually end up, so I can't be too harsh on it. Fisherman's Wharf is basically a long line of junky souvenir stores (crab hats, keychains, airbrushed sea otter t-shirts), candy shops, boats for hire, and mediocre overpriced seafood restaurants on a long pier-like structure....
