A beautiful place to walk around, with lots to see and do in the Cannery Row vicinity. Of course there is the Aquarium, but there are also lots of shops and restaurants.

This is a must do drive around the bay. Waterfront roads allow photo stops of shoreline that alternates between sandy beaches and rocky cliffs. Seeing the waves pound the shoreline is awesome.

Love watching the otters, the sounds of the seals barking, the sea gulls, the scent of the salty sea mixed with giant seaweed, the jelly bean colored Kayaks, the swoosh of the waves, the mists and fog that clears to reveal the wide swath of...More

Definitely visit, the downtown is lovely, there's a nice beach, cannery row is OK, the whale watching is excellent - there's places to visit 17 mile drive, beaches - we loved Monterey.

Great town, I wish I could have it to myself. I recommend Lover's Point and the Monterey Bay Aquarium above all else.

Skip downtown, traffic and shopping and head to the peninsula and walk along the beautiful, accessible paths. Ample free parking; we watch whales, climbed on cliffs, and simply enjoyed the beauty.

Great little town for all your gift shopping and tasting rooms and restaurant. So yes I would recommend going to Monterey and visiting. Great views and yes you have to pay to park.

I cannot say anything about this place that has not been said a million times already. The coastline just south of Monterey is one of the most beautiful places in California. I keep coming back to it; drawn by the shoreline, the soothing sound of...More

Ton's to do and the weather is mostly cool year round. Can be rainy in January though. 17 Mile drive is awesome, Lover's point, Cannery Row, the Aquarium was packed last month but was a weekend.

Hello Julie, I believe April is a good time as they start their migration back from sea of Cortez to Alaska. They get very close to the Monterey coast to feed. Hope that helps. Safe travels, Raj
