The park is a short drive from Monterey proper. It's on top of a ridge and provides great views both seaward and inland. The hikes are on well-marked trails through piney woods. Worth a visit if you at all outdoorsy.

Jack's Peak-A great getaway from downtown and noise. Over 8 miles of hikes and you can bring your fur kids. Beautiful views and lots of trees.

Trails had lots of signage and plaques along the way describing the different plants and flowers. Well maintained!

I Googled hiking trails in Monterey and this was the first one on the list. It was fun to go to the mountains rather than just the beach on a trip to Monterey and it was only 15 min. from downtown. The park was not...More
