I like to just meander through this place which is usually sparsely populated and quiet. Not a whole bunch to see, but nice and peaceful.

Very interesting and wonderfully helpful employees. One of the few museums I have been to where you are encouraged to handle exhibits.

Nice opportunity to visit historic buildings in a pleasant setting. Information boards are available. The adobe buildings were especially interesting. Parking is a challenge.

Monterey has a great history. The first brick building in California, the first public library, the first theater.

Just steps from the wharf, take a break from the touristy side of Monterey. This was a fantastic step into Monterey history. Guide was fun and informative. Don't miss this one hour tour!

Such a great place to relive the past days of Old Monterey as it looked back in the day-you can almost feel history come alive here.
