Didn't know that this reserve existed until we was a sign for it. The hike is very interesting and passes through about 5 distinct habitats. It is an out and back over moderate terrain and the trail is well-maintained.

Very scenic, clean beach, you just need to be a bit lucky to get good weather, if the fog burns off and the sun comes out the scenery gets even better.

This was my first visit to Jug Handle and I was absolutely blown away by the coast, bluffs, beach and amazingly blue water. It was really a sensational stop and we didn't even have time for the pygmy forest hike. I love how the trails...More

The grassland along the bluffs are ablaze with wildflowers in July. Moody coastline and interesting rock formations in the water. Definitely worth a stop.

The access is easy down a flight of stairs to this broad beach. The water appeared swimmer-friendly as the sand extends out quite a ways and the colors of the water are stunning.

This is a great place to get out and stretch your legs and enjoy nature. A short walk and your out on the bluffs with wild flowers and salty sea breeze blowing in your hair.

It's a small beach but don't let that stop you. It's very beautiful and well worth the walk down the stairs. You can either swim, chase the waves or explore the rocks and tide pools on the left.

Agree with drheathr, trail is mostly level and walking speed after the beginning steep decline. However trail map says that it is 5 miles long one way and there is no alternate return route, just one way in and one way out... More

I was at the park for a wedding. We used the trail down to the beach. Some of the steps are irregular in height and position, but it is an easy trail. If a bride can do it in her gown and guests ranging from 6 months into... More
