This iconic public pier in Malibu has been refurbished recently. The view is lovely on a clear day, it is a short stroll to the end of the pier and there is a good restaurant located at the end of the pier (Malibu Farm Cafe) & we enjoyed lunch there. We came here after we landed in LA airport after a 14 hr flight from Sydney. We hired a car and enjoyed the scenic drive along the coast to Malibu pier. It was a great location to relax in the sun and recover from jet lag. Beautiful cafe sitting up on the roof with amazing views. Would definitely come here... More

A fun place to stroll on the boardwalk and watch the fishermen, have lunch and enjoy the ocean. Had a Pelican entertain us by landing and having a fish fed to him by one of the fishermen.

Scenic place to grab breakfast at the end of the pier. Food was good and plentiful. Walk the pier and people watch.

The pier is pleasant but not exceptional. Parking is largely confined to private lots and a little pricey. Very nice cafe at the end of the pier with an organic menu and outdoor dining.

The parking is easy at this pier, but expensive. Plan on $15 during the day and $10 at night. There isn't really anything on the pier except for a very good restaurant, Malibu Farm, and some expensive shops. However, the views are lovely and the local fisherman are interesting to watch.

We visited the pier on a showery day recently but despite this the pier maintained its charm amidst a beautiful seaside backdrop

Staying in Malibu

Neighbourhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
