Zuma is such a lovely beach! We walked the strip and even met a celeb! Although October is not really the time to go bare, I had to walk the beach in my bare feet!

We visited recently so that we MA residents could test the Pacific Waters. We were just to the North side of Lifequard Headquarters (which Wikipedia describes as having the strongest rip currents). My husband and son were body surfing and the waves were big and the pull was strong. We had to walk to several bathrooms to find one that... More

Stopped on Zuma beach on the way into Malibu and LA. The beach has a massive pay car park but also lots of space for parallel parking on the road for free. The beach had very few other people on it and the waves were big enough for surfers. You're not going to see any Malibu 'celebs' but that doesn't... More

Great wide open beach on the Pacific Coast Highway. Disappointed because we paid parking and thought we could find a good truck. Not the case should have parked on the highway and walked around and contato a food stop. It was pretty just a little too windy and cold to sit on the beach.

Right off the Pacific Coast Hwy, a great cove beach for all ages. Good for volleyballers, surfers, and kids with parents.

It was very nice and quite. Way less crowded than Santa Monica but it is less garnished like it doesn't have a bike trail or beach benches. I want in April and it was still too cold to swim

We spent a full day at Zuma Beach and really enjoyed it. The Southern end of the beach has some great waves for surfing. The sand is wide and soft, which made it terrific for the kids. We saw some whales cruising just off-shore throughout the day. Then there's the view of the mountains over the Malibu coast, making it... More

Great sandy beach to walk, sunbathe, surf and chili out. You can park near the beach, free if you have blue badge. Very clean, Life guards around too.

Staying in Malibu

Neighbourhood Profile
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
