All of my valley views were from the roadway as I drove through, and I've added a return visit because the formations are so unusual. Other places to include in your itinerary: Bar U Ranch, Canmore

A bad day in the Kananaskis Valley is better than a good day at work! Firstly, it's free to enter the valley! Secondly, the road is great for driving or cycling, well paved and maintained. Thirdly, the views throughout the area are amazing, gorgeous mountains,...More

We actually stayed at the Delta Marriott Hotel in Kananaskis Valley, but if you are staying in Canmore or Banff, this is a drive you need to take. Beautiful snow-capped mountains (in June), beautiful rivers, and just unbelievable sights.

Very easy accessible Trails short distance from Calgary. Great day hikes or multi day Trails. Kananaski village has a store on the right just of the parking lot. In high season it's recommend to book spots ahead.

While there are significantly fewer options for things to see and do in Kananaskis Country in the winter, there are still lots of things to entertain. Foremost is the Nakiska Ski Resort which offers great family skiing so close to Calgary. A stop in Kananaskis...More

Loved our drive through Kananaskis Valley. Beautiful mountains but not as crazy busy as Banff or Jasper. Just wish we had more time to explore the hiking trails!
