BEST PORT EVER! Do yourself a favor and try all three of the Port offerings. I guarantee you'll bring home at least one bottle! This is a lovely tasting room with a relaxing patio out back, lots of wine-related knickknacks to tempt you and a friendly, courteous staff.

Dan Gehrs is always our first stop in Los Olivos. We love the quaint building, the wine and the port. So glad to see that they have a new port since we were last there in June 2015. Rejoined the wine club too. Wish the back patio was open but it isn't during the week.

What a quaint, relaxing place to taste wine and kick back! The staff there is so welcoming and knowledgable. Next time, I would bring some food to nibble on with the wines. Also, I think this would be a great place at night. There's a fire pit in back with chairs set up. We were there in the day and... More

Friendly staff and informative. Wines average and served in ordinary glasses. Some too cold. But good atmosphere. The town though is beautiful. We will be back! As there are plenty of places still to explore.

If you like dessert wines, this is the place for you. Some of the nicest Ports in CA I think. Clio is a must-see...pet her all she'll let you but don't do what I did and rub her belly...I've got the teeth marks that say 'don't'...some of the nicest hosts around Los Olivos.

Visited this afternoon. The staff was welcoming and Nathan was very forthcoming with the history of the label. We each loved the Rocker wine which recently won awards for excellence. All the wines were good but the customer service was what I will come back for.

Daniel Gehrs wines were our favorite from our short wine tasting visit to Los Olivos. Walking in, we thought the winery would be pretentious, but the servers (Jim and Stephanie) welcomed us like old friends. Jim was very knowledgeable about the wines, the terroir, weather and grapes. He described each wine so well and what he or his wife would... More

We spent 2 lazy afternoons on the Gehr's patio last weekend. Did the port tasting - still love the Fireside Port with the chocolate enough to buy a couple of bottles - on Sat. Went back on Sunday for the full wine flight. Brought our picnic and sat under the trees/umbrellas for a couple of hours enjoying their whites -... More

We were encouraged by a local friend to stop and taste the wines at Daniel Gehr Winery located in downtown Los Olivos (a quaint little stagecoach village with real history). There are a bunch of winery tasting rooms located in Los Olivos, which may explain the constant presence of the Santa Barbara Sheriff's department checking drivers, and they're not very... More
