This Korean spa was a pleasant surprise discovery (especially for the admission fee). The day rate is $15 (and you get a locker, thin comfortable robe and one bath towel). Smaller face towels available in the wet area. There are a few rooms with flat beds to rest/lay (or at night to sleep on), a good number of Lazy-Boy type recliners. The wet area has American-European stand up showers, but note the heads are so far up, that they are not adjustable (only water temperature); and Asian showers where you sit down and spray off. Then the pools area is pretty small to moderate. There is a cool plunge, hot and medium/warm pool. All three have notes to spend no more than three minutes in each. There is not much of a “rest” area or chairs in this elevated area and there is one TV (usually with American sports playing) that can be enjoyed from the pools area. Below the pools is a large steam room and large room dry sauna. The steam room has benches on the long and short end of the rectangle and the steam is pretty good and consistent. The dry sauna is large open area with seating also on one long edge of rectangle and two bench tiers on the other end of the rectangle. Do not be surprised thought that one “side” of the room is completely clear plexiglass…so it adds to the “openness” of that room. As with Korean Spas, no bathing suits are allowed, so you do have be/get comfortable in your birthday suit. Most men are not “running around” without a towel and many use the thin robes as cover. Staff is around a lot checking the facility and mopping the wet areas. I did not have any treatments (scrubs, etc). Also, there is a separate “smoke room” outside the wet area with three chairs and exhaust fans to remove the smoke from the area.

Overall, enjoyed the visit, staff and patrons. There is a “night” fee of $30 and you get a blanket at check in. Amenities stay open all night (although not many used them, unless you can’t sleep). The steam room is closed for a couple of hours for cleaning approximately 3-5am (hours are posted on the steam room door).

You could order (and pay for) food from front desk and eat it in a designated eating (tables and chairs room) in the men's only area. Free Internet access with password posted.

The Grand Spa is at the corner of W 6th and Virgil. Parking lot i off of Virgil. They have a guard stationed in the lot at all times that I have been there. For those that have never been to a Korean Spa before it i much different than a spa that you are used to. The Grand Spa like all Korean Spas is segregated based on sex. At the Grand Spa LA men go in and go to the 2nd floor. When you go in you have the choice of paying $15-$20 depending on the time of day just for admission, this gets you unlimited use of showers, hot tubs and saunas. There is also a sleeping room, there are tv, etc.

The first thing that you do, is remove your shoes the walk into the locker room, you are provided a robe and a towel, there are other towel around the corner for use as well. After that get naked and put on the robe. There are no clothes allowed in the saunas, and soaking tubs, etc.

Next thing take a shower. There are about 8 stand up showers and 6 sit down showers. You need to shower before you do anything. And you need to take a shower if you go from sauna to the soaking tubs, etc. Just take a shower frequently.

I ordered a body scrub, it is about $30. You will be on a massage table in the middle of the wet area. The technician first wets you down then goes to town with what at the time you are sure is a block of 12 grit sand paper. After about 20 minutes of scrubbing you have fresh skin as the old dry stuff has been sloughed off.

Take your time there, a good 3-5 hour visit is well worth it. There are other service available too. Massages, haircuts, hoe shines, etc. Korean spas are a social gathering space. Some Korean pas have a coed area that you need to be clothed in. Most of them have a restaurant or an agreement with a restaurant and you can order food.

I will be back to this one as I have already been several times. I never miss a trip here when I am in Los Angeles

The 24hr Grand Spa is inside an Asian Mall. The men's area is on 1 end of the building and the women's area is on the other side.

They give a new customer special of a free pumice brush and their prices are the most cost effective in terms of the treatments. However the restaurant prices are very high in comparison to the other Asian bathouses.

I had the 1hr acupressure session with Candy for $60 and she was good but at the end it became a swedish kindda gentle massage.

I really liked this spa. I can only write about the men's area, as I'm male. I was happy because it was small...three pools (one cold, warm and hot) and one wet and one dry sauna. Very clean and upscale and relaxing. I would go again as the customer service was top rate and the prices are average for US versions of the Korean traditional experience. The only thing I didn't like is that they were playing ESPN in the spa area near the hot pool on a large screen TV with the volume up too high. That's not helpful for relaxation. I also took advantage of a body scrub which was professional and very well done. Overall, is a very good spa and I would recommend others to go.

This place is the Walmart or Lowest of spas to give you an analogy. No toothbrush, no slippers, half of the rooms are inoperable and broken, restaurant was shut down, instead of cleaning the Cleaning lady was on her cellphone for 30; minutes , then took lunch and then went to gossip with a few regulars. She and my massage therapist were extremely rude and unprofessional, felt racially profiled. Will never ever return to this unclean old dump passing itself off as a spa.
I paid nearly $300+ and the massage lady left the room 4 times, she actually made my back and neck hurt even more.
I was disgusting when I went into the restroom and there's no toilet seat covers and no toilet tissue either, 1 lady was vomiting but claimed not to be sick only hungover. Lots of fighting and arguing spoiled the Zen I was trying to achieve. Ended up leaving earlier because I was starving and the restaurant is shut down. Oh and my designer scarf, sunglasses and phone charger were all stolen from my Mat after I was told to leave it there because the massage lady was in a hurry.
One lady was screaming at the top of her lungs that another lady was taking her picture, they almost started to fight. Staff played the no speak English card and did nothing. This place is a real joke. Nothing calming about bugs , roaches and foul smells.

I had a very nice body scrub, but my during my massage, the therapist answered her cell phone and kept talking. She used one hand to try to continue the massage while she held her phone and talked with the other.....
Finally when I said “Are you kidding?” She hung up. It ruined the entire experience.

Good: For Women Only section on 3rd floor, clean, nice recliner chairs in front of big tv, restaurant delivers food, separate dining area, warm jacuzzi not only Hot/Cold, robes instead of shorts/tshirt, well lighted parking lot

Bad: some noises from squeaky fans, hot soup/food delivered in plastic to go container, water temperature very difficult to adjust,,,and would fluctuate(this is the main reason for the stars taken away), customer service so-so(might be cultural), food was pricey(cheapest was like 12$), not many food choices
