About
The GRAMMY Museum® is an interactive space where all aspects of music are experienced, explored, and celebrated. We break down the barrier between artist and audience, telling stories of how music has shaped our collective identity and cultural understanding. By deconstructing the creative process, considering music makers through a broader social lens, and placing you in the creator role, our thought-provoking exhibits and programs showcase the storied legacy of music—the thread that connects us.

Neighbourhood: Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

Very well done! Music lovers will enjoy.
We enjoyed our visit. We snagged a couple free tickets from the public library and then paid for a $15 senior ticket entry. Four floors of displays. We spent about 1 1/2 hours here. Parking is available in public parking ramps nearby for $7. If you love music and the Grammys, go! The Shakira display was very good. We also enjoyed the Grammy wardrobe displays as well as the Michael Jackson items displayed. Very well done. The films are worth watching, too. I watched part of one about music writers, and another showing Grammy highlights throughout the years.

    Must See for Music Buffs
The Grammy Museum is easy to get to by Metro, right next door to Crypto.com stadium. There were special exhibits on Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and the Roxy night club which were very interesting. Although not my kind of music there were also exhibits on rap and hip hop, and I'm still not sure I understand them.

Nice and interesting way to spend a few hours in LA
My daughter wanted to go and I was lukewarm on the idea but it was great, Good value for money and the exhibits were really interesting. We wandered around for number of hours looking at and watching the exhibits. Additionally there are a number of fun interactive things you can do (Hip Hop are and the Shakira exhibit). I also really enjoyed the Michael Jackson "Thriller" video focus. Some cool outfits from Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Eminem etc. Would recommend as a cheap, fun thing to do.

    Music lovers dream
If you love me the way I do, you’ve gotta stop here. My only regret is I wish we had more time. Start at the top floor a hip-hop lovers dream. All the music video and memorabilia had us in all. I would certainly visit this place again.

As true music lovers, we were a bit disappointed with the quantity of information and the number of music stars included and available for visitors. There were so many amazing achievements and so many great musicians in history, it is shame that you could not see at least a small tribute for many of them. However, those that are included have a nice tribute and you might find some really interesting facts. It is a small museum, it will not provide entertainment for more than 60 -90 minutes. Not even close to how big Grammy's were in our eyes. The outside of the museum is interesting as well, so do walk around the building

Wonderful photos and video clips of musicians and their acts in genre after genre - r&b, gospel, country, pop, blues and others— all Grammy worthy and Grammy winners. Then there are the costumes and paraphernalia and musical instruments. Really a fun trip back in time as well as a tribute to the diversity in American music. It is a small museum, easily done in a couple of hours.

This covers the GRAMMY from the beginning, and all of the music categories. I was especially fascinated with the various outfits on display: Michael Jackson's beaded military-style jackets, celebrity gowns and tuxedos they wore to the GRAMMY with corresponding photos. The history of the GRAMMY was extremely fascinating. The Beyond Black The Style of Amy Winehouse was interesting. I found all of the galleries very informative. It is quite obvious that celebrities, or their estates, donate the designer outfits worn on the red carpet to this museum. Come with your best outfit. There is a red carpet photo opportunity for you too.

I never get tired of walking through the Gammy Museum!

Each time I would visit the Grammy museum I would just feel so much magic and positive energy all around me.

The Music Industry may have lot some of its magic, and for the past decade the Music Industry just seems 'lost'. Still I remain hopeful.

It is my hope that the entertainment industry in whole finds its way back home.

I miss you!

It was a bummer. If I didn't drive the 40 min to get there. Pay $17 in parking and $40 for tickets (discount by the way cause a floor was completely closed). If it was right down the street and half the price I could understand. We walked through the 2 floors in about 22 min and I was so underwhelmed I had to ask the lady at the front if I missed something. It was a no.

4th floor was closed and for that we got a little discount on the tickets. But even 16 dollars per person as too much paid for an event where not even a single Grammy is displayed. Very disappointing visit.

Our visit to the museum was complimentary as we were staying at a nearby hotel. While I did find the history interesting, I must say I felt short-changed. There are so many other artists to explore. If you are not into the featured artists., you will likely feel that this is not time well-spent. I was in and out in under an hour.

The top floor was our favorite. The first room had a film of famous Grammy moments that is a must see. Do watch the whole thing. Nice collection of costumes and artifacts. The Marleys display is fantastic with large photos and stories. The other floors specialize on a couple of artists. If you are a fan - great.

Great museum showcasing the history of the GRAMMY Award, the Recording Academy, and American music. Spans three floors starting from the top (4th) down to the 1st where a gift shop is located. Elevators and stairs are available. Lots of things to view, read, and with which to interact, makes for a great few hours to spend in Downtown LA.
