Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

UCLA has the most beautiful campus ever (although I am a little biased since I'm a student here). You can relax near the Janns steps, grab a coffee at Kerckhoff Hall, or take a stroll in the Statue Garden. One downside is that parking is expensive (e.g. $8 for 2 hours).

I agree with many of the other reviewers that this campus is stunningly beautiful. This is where many movies have been filmed, including The Godfather, Old School, Legally Blonde. One of the most iconic spots on campus is the grassy quad between Royce Hall and Powell Library. Other scenic spots include the Bruin Bear at the foot of Bruin Walk, Tongva Steps, the Sculpture Garden on North campus and the Botanical Gardens on South campus. If you want to avoid the parking costs, which can range from eight dollars to $24, depending on how long you’re there, park at one of the cheaper parking structures in Westwood Village, put on your walking shoes and walk the quarter mile to campus.

« I am no stranger to UCLA...I’ve driven by it many times on the 405 Freeway » Martin Mull once said at an Ackerman at Noon appearance.
In fact I spent four years here as an undergraduate and am grateful for having been able to attend this great institution !!!
Now I work nearby and can eat my lunch in the Village and reminisce

UCLA is an urban oasis located in the Westwood area of LA because it has wonderfully landscaped green campus. The dogwood was blooming when we visited in mid-February. There's also a large botanical garden on campus that we're saving for our next LA trip.

This is a great school and a fun place to visit weather you are a student here or not. The campus has lots of beautiful architecture, with museums, Pauley Pavilion (a large indoor arena), a sculpture garden and lots of other things to see and do. There is plenty of parking in multiple parking garages on the campus with a large campus store located close to the Westwood (south campus) entrance. UCLA is a fun place to go to school too and worth a visit.

If you look at the news grom UCLA, which kind of professors are working there you understand that this university is totally overrated. Nice buildings, but an aggressive crowd of anti-Semitic students and teachers around. By one word: A no go!

At first, I thought going to UC Los Angeles is such a PRESTIGIOUS thing in my life! Nevertheless, the dream is far from the truth. Some of the staff here particularly those in the financial department are not at all helpful; all they care about is themselves, NOT the students. Counselors are quite demanding too, it's as if they are the boss and you are not. All I can say that are good are the Royce Hall and Powell Library. Other than that, this uni as the 25th best uni in the world is REALLY NOT the best at all. Cambridge, MIT, Oxford, and QMUL are a LOT BETTER. Alumni from 2008-2010.

Yes, I graduated from UCLA, but I consider myself a fair reviewer of attractions...and this campus is not to be missed for those traveling to Los Angeles. I took my wife to show her around this beautiful campus....if you like architecture, you will love it! (Lots of architectural designs). If you like nature, you will love it! (Botanical Gardens are located in the south-east). If you like art, you will love it! (Sculpture Garden is located in the north-east). If you like hollywood showbiz-related places, you will love it! (Hundreds of TV shows, movies and commercials have been shot here). If you like sports, you will love it! (The Morgan Center perfectly showcases all the trophies and history of the most successful university in college sports!). Shall I say more? There is something for everyone at UCLA.

Yes. You can visit the campus.

My son is scheduled for a college visit at UCLA followed by a visit at USC. Any recommendations as to a hotel near UCLA and best public transportation route to USC. Thank you.
Written 27 November 2018
Hotel Angeleno or the Beverly Hilton. There is also a Holiday Inn Express nearby in West L.A. There is no ideal public transit between USC & UCLA, with the "best option" being city buses. With that in mind, it would be better to rent a car while in L.A. or use Lyft/Uber. Both universities are extremely difficult to get into, with UCLA being more difficult academically. USC will set you, or your son, back at least $200K without scholarships or grants, NOT including room and board (housing & meal plan). Downtown L.A., close to USC, has many more hotel options.

Hi, I'm going to go there from Downtown LA by metro.
Could you please advise me the best way to go to there from Culver City Metro station?
Written 30 July 2018
Why not take the Wiltshire Boulevard bus from downtown to Westwood? It’s more direct and does not require a transfer.

Boa tarde.

Aproveite bastante!!! (Aiii que saudades de lá!!!!)

There is parking on Campus. Proceed to main entrance and pull to attendant station....explain you are there for a tour or campus visit. They will give you directions to parking garage. You will pay the parking fee to attendant...I believe it was only 3-5 dollars...

There is parking. A kiosk at the driveway guides you. I honestly cannot remember if we paid to park there( we were visiting several places & they all start to mesh...).

Yes, I attended a conference there and the ground and a few buildings were open for public. The main mall was quite busy. Big museums were also open for public.
