The area
Neighbourhood: Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.

The 9 PM Saturday night show didn't start until 10:10 PM. After standing in line for an hour, the seating host -- a rude, Rasputin-looking stiff with food particles lodged in his two-foot stringy beard -- directed us to a table guaranteed to disappoint. We paid a premium for "VIP tickets" but we had no view of the performers. As it turns out, we missed very little because the show itself is hokey and the "magic" is elementary. The audience consisted of a loud, drunken and obnoxious group of birthday bachelorettes, one of whom vomited in the already filthy single bathroom available in the facility. How this joint without adequate bathroom facilities meets city code requirements is a wonder. The free drinks we were supposed to receive with our "VIP tickets never arrived. The place is a complete ripoff. If you want to see entertaining magic, there are plenty of other venues in town where you can have a reliably fun, enjoyable evening; but, this isn't the place. Save your money, and go elsewhere. I rate Black Rabbit Rose one-star only because Trip Advisor doesn't permit zero stars.

This place is the epitome of L.A. cool. The magic show we saw was a delight and the venue, weird, in the best sense of the word. The staff was made up of acting hopefuls, what else, and I'm sure I've seen at least a couple of them on screen. They added greatly to the buzzy atmosphere. Tables are close together, but you don't feel packed in and the show doesn't just take place on the stage, so wherever you sit you'll see everything and maybe even get pulled into the action.

Well, what can we say about this experience other than it was AMAZING! From the moment we entered the bar the greeting, the drinks the food, and of course the show, BUT the best bit was the Jazz band WOW! Absolutely brilliant! This was by far our favourite part of our LA holiday, thank you Black Rabbit Rose 🌹 we will be back!

Saw The Ruby Friedman Orchestra last night. Wonderful performance in a neat, comfortable, seductive environment. The ease of purchasing tickets online, early entrance into the bar and then moving over to the entertainment venue was seamless. The bar tab easily transfers throughout both parts of the venue.
One recommendation - the website did not list Ruby Friedman’s performance date, or any other upcoming performances. One would only know she was performing via her social media posts. Nor was I able to see postings as to any upcoming artists at the venue. Might be wise to update the website to list upcoming entertainment.
All in all, a nice place that I do not hesitate recommending and returning to.

Came here with a group of 24 to celebrate a birthday and ended up having one of the best evenings of food, drink and fun that I've ever had. The Thai-based menu items did not disappoint with all of the flavors being on point and the heat very appropriate and authentic. We must have had one of everything on the menu served in rotating dishes across our 5 tables. There was something for everyone and more than enough for me. The wait staff made sure our drinks stayed full and that our tables were continuously clear for the next new dish to arrive. They even accommodated a homemade cake. As we moved into the theater not knowing what to expect we found a group of entertainers that were as talented as you could find anywhere. The show was both engaging and funny. The magic was top notch. I still can't figure out how they did some of it. I would not miss an opportunity to go back next time I'm in LA.

We were here to celebrate a friend's birthday. We enjoyed the food before the show. But the show was the star. Amazing magic tricks. Hilarious routines. A cool speakeasy decor. We're still wondering how they pulled off some of their tricks. Well worth the visit.

Came here on a Saturday night. This place is a throw back to prohibition times and supposedly where Rudolph Valentino used to conduct Business and hold gatherings to connect to the spirits that have passed.
The drink menu is small but do offer different types of cocktails. We ordered the black arts which is lemongrass vodka, lime, aloe and charcoal. Very good!
The menu is tapas so on the small side.
We ordered popcorn shrimp, lettuce cups and egg rolls. All fine nothing super special about the tapas.
The dark lit area and walk thru and into the magic show was super cool. Dark, dark woods with velvet church benches.
The show itself was entertaining and staff was nice and prompt.
This place is fun if you are looking to do something a little different for the evening .

We’re in LA as part of our honeymoon road trip and my cousins wife (they live here) booked this for us and it was such a great find!
It has a prohibition feel about the place which I love! We watched the show and my husband who was a non believer in magic is now believing! The cast are really great, captivating and so entertaining! The show is just really fun, I don’t think there was anyone in that room that didn’t enjoy. It’s immersive too which is always a lovely bonus!
The staff are amazing, literally from the man from Doncaster (England) on the door through to the performers, the security, bar staff, everyone is really friendly and attentive. Little details like I used a machine like the one from the movie Big and I didn’t get my fortune... 5 mins later I had this guy come over to me with a $1 bill. I hadn’t asked for a refund, I’d joked that I had no fortune and no future, but that was all. I was not expecting a refund from them which was so nice, but unexpected.
Then... after the show... we had food and wow... it was so good. The menu isn’t big, but it has some Thai crowd pleasers and they do them well. The egg rolls were really bloody good and it was my first time having crispy chicken skin, but wow... so tasty (my heart is probably a little clogged though). The Drunken noodles were also really blood good!
One thing...the drinks... they’re strong! I had to order an extra sprite to make my drink longer as i couldn’t handle it. Total bonus for most people!
Go, get tickets and enjoy!
