First of all, I am very prone to motion sickness (and a couple of rides at Universal pushed my limits), but The Simpsons Ride caused no issues for me, and we rode it twice in fairly quick succession with our Unlimited Express pass. I mostly mention this because so many others mention here how sick it made them.

I think it's important to have at least a passing familiarity with the Simpsons to fully enjoy this ride, and we are big fans. The various waiting areas you pass through are all quite clever and have lots of video screens and such to keep you distracted and to provide some pretty solid laughs. There's one point in the line where you're in a room that's basically a series of carnival booths, and various key Simpson's characters play out different scenarios while you're there (all on video screens). Because the show is animated (and fairly simply animated), it's easy to immerse you in a convincing "Simpson's world."

The story of the ride is that you're at Krustyland, the new carnival, and you're there for the world premier of the new coaster. The Simpsons are to be the first passengers, and you've been tapped to tag along for the ride. But at the same time, Sideshow Bob has escaped from prison and is on a rampage of revenge, which you get swept up in.

It's a simulation ride, with a giant screen showing the action and your carnival car swinging you around with jolts, sharp movements up and down, etc. There is even some scent involved (one involving baby Maggie is a classic I won't spoil).

It's a blast. The ride is fun. The story has more coherence than many of these kinds of rides do. The dialogue is great. (Homer to Marge: "What a great day." Marge: "Sideshow Bob is trying to kill our kids" Homer: "This day just gets better and better.")

Personally, I highly recommend this ride. Other rides here have more thrills, perhaps, or more technical bravado...but this one, to me, is the most complete experience.

My least favorite ride at this park. Not suited for people who get motion sickness easily. My son loved the ride while I spend most of it with my eyes closed. We had unlimited express pass and we still waited over 30 minutes to ride. Not sure if that is typical or not, but we didn't wait more than 10 minutes for any other rides all day.

This is a cute ride and the carnival theme is consistent throughout. Fun experience for The Simpsons fans and non-fans alike.

I was do disappointed when they took down the Back to the future ride and when I found out this was the replacement, I couldn't believe it. The ride made me so nauseous and it is terrible.

Skip this ride. The queue was very short for a reason. The ride is so Jerky and made me feel to vomit. Avoid at all cost, it ruined my experience of Universal Studios.

Great concept of a ride. It’s actually a simulator but funny and enjoyable! Suitable for all ages in the family

The wait was finally reasonable enough for us to stand in line and wait to ride the Simpsons ride. They take you into a room beforehand and give you the normal speech about who should and shouldn't ride, but in a Simpsons sort of way. I found it hilarious. :) The ride itself was good, but I won't be riding it again. I do have minor motion sickness, but this ride brought it out big time. A few times I had to look down and focus on a spot to make that feeling go away. We all liked it, but 3 of 5 people in our group (1 adult, 2 teens) got different levels of motion sickness on this ride. So, if you have any motion sickness or vertigo issues, I would not ride. Overall, a cute ride though!

This ride really needs a refurbish. Queues are really long and slow, the capacity and cycle time for the ride is not good.

The ride was nice 10 years ago, but the age starts to show with this one.

After waiting in the queue for nearly an hour we was shuffled downstairs only to wait another 30 minutes.
We finally made it into a room where we were bored to death for another 20 minutes, then we were shoved into what looked like a life that could only fit 7 people and very claustrophobic for another 7/8 minutes .
By this time we were just done ,we finally made it into a car and believe me when I say it was not worth the wait .
Please don’t waste 1 and half of your valuable time in this fantastic park on this ride .

This ride needs a little revamping. I was super stoked for this ride!! However, it was very jerky and the graphics are not as up to date as Universal's other rides. Those two factors combined made for an unpleasant, sickening experience. I have never felt as though I was going to throw up on a ride before in my life, but this ride changed that. I was staggering as I got up afterwards and stuggled to maintain my balance for a while, I was that motion-sick.
All this being said, the storyline is fun and funny, but the ride needs a little love.
