Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took a Uber up to Long Beach to this very fun piano bar. Although most piano bars play the same rotation of music, this one was fairly open in terms of requests. The troupe was very entertaining and I would come back again.

Four of us dropped in after a concert at the Performing Arts Center, basically because it was the only place around still serving food. Paid the cover and was expecting standing room only but we had our choice of tables!
Standard pub food, there is a wide choice and the portions are generous, the fries are crisp and the trimmings that came with my sandwich were fresh. The service was friendly and the food came out in good time. Good selection of beer, too.
There were two sets of dueling piano musicians, and while one set took their break they stayed on to play accompanying guitar which made for a great sound and also meant there was no annoying down time to the music as you find in so many other dueling piano bars. They improvised more than a little and if you are the sensitive type fair warning because this is definitely adult oriented music. It's all in fun and that is actually what sets this place off from the corporate eateries available a block away on Shoreline drive. The big chains have to follow too many rules, while old Sgt. Pepper's can improvise and play to the crowd. It can get expensive if you want to put in requests because the pianists cater to the highest bidder.
If you need a place to eat late at night, and don't mind pub food, this isn't a bad choice.

We met some colleagues here while on a conference. We met at 8. A few seats were available.

Fairly ropey place, or more basic than I would have thought.

No cover charge, but if you want a song requested be prepared to add some cash to your request

Irrespective of the above the pianist singers were excellent and fun. They didn't really take a break and we were there about 3 hours

Good fun if you can close your eyes to some of it.

The waitress was great, and the food and drinks were ok, but the piano players were terrible. They will only play your song if you stick a twenty to your request. Who would pay twenty dollars to hear a couple rude jerks sing a really bad version of your favorite song. The joke was on me. I was the idiot who paid seven dollars to get in. Never never again!!!

No cover charge, Thursday night. Group of six of us. Pianists pretty accomplished and 'played to the crowd'. Other reviews have noted the 'risqué' nature of some of the songs etc but they are giving the majority of the crowd exactly what they want, younmake your choice! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will go again

Wow. Myself and a friend were staying across the street at the Hyatt and decided to go here. We loved it. Even though we just sat in the back of the room and drank beer it was so much fun to watch the crowd and these piano players. My buddy and I were blown away. They piano players were very talented and quick. A little crude ,but we loved it.

You choose a song, they play it, then other people pay to cut off your song and play their song. Nice if you spent $20 and someone spends $21 to kill your song. This place is a money pit with mediocre service, a cover charge (obviously to keep you in) and bad customer service. We called in a week before to have reservations in the front for a party of 9. They told us, no problem we'll put you in the front. Spent $63 just to walk into the front door, to find out we were reserved seats, all the way in the back, behind two 3 foot wide beams with no visibility. Their excuse, ohhh...you should have arrived at 4PM. We were told "no one" is reserved seats in the front. Don't kid yourself, the food was overpriced barf ood (yes purposely mispelled)

I love this place. Dueling Pianos is always a fun night out no matter what. I've read some of the other reviews and A) - i've never been called a "cougar" so I'm wondering how these women were behaving and what they were wearing and B) what they were expecting for a dueling pianos bar??? It's not a piano lounge. There are plenty of those. If you want cabaret, go to the Paradise on Broadway and they'll serenade you with soothing showtunes all night.

I have been waiting for something like this in Long Beach for a long time. I went with my mom (71) myself (49) and my neighbor's daughter (30). My husband didn't want to go. I think we covered all the age groups in attendance, however the majority were probably in their 30s. We arrived at 7pm (with reservations) and stayed until about 11:30pm. I think for myself and my mom, we could have stayed until 10pm and been fine (the later you stay the younger the music crowd was), this was fine, we just stayed later because, the 30 year old with us was waiting for her "guy" friend to show up and we didn't want to leave her alone. The entertainers were great, the wait staff was excellent and the food was good. One problem was after our 3rd glass of wine, they ran out of the house chardonay and only had chardonay for $10.00 per glass after that......you think they would have had more then 1 bottle for the evening? Our excellent waiter found something else for us to drink a little cheaper. The other was that both my mom and I both sent money to the stage (my mom $10.00 for Piano Man) and me ($20.00 for 3 songs). They never sang my mom's and only 1 out of 3 of mine. Really, they were terrific piano players and singers (all 4, we liked the girl the best), and they had great interaction with the crowd, but we would have liked to have had our songs sang or at least tell us to pick another.... As the evening progressed, it got more crowded (which is more fun, the more people you have). I think everyone there had a great time in all. I want to say thanks to the people who opened this up in Long Beach, it's been a long time since we have had something like this, I just wish I was 15 years younger!!!

There were six of us (over 30's) ladies that were on a "Girls weekend out" and went there ready to have fun. We all went with an attitude of party with the pocketbooks to pay. First, once the music started we were very disappointed in the musicianship. (A couple women in our group were musicians.)
But we thought, Oh heck, let's just have some fun, bring on the drinks. HOWEVER, the rudeness and disrespect from the piano bangers was disqusting. They played up to the "younger" girls in the crowd all the while totally dismissing our group. One of our ladies put in a written request, which was promptly crumpled up and thrown over his shoulder. We again dismissed them to just being "noise at our party." And did stay because we were enjoying each other. At one point a few of our group stood up at the table and were dancing to the music (As were other tables of people) to which the piano bangers started hollaring "Cage the Cougars!" Then promptly plastered it across the sign board in front. That was it...we left. Those cougars dropped some good money there, but will never go there again, nor would we recommend it to anyone and will TELL everyone how rude and CRUEL these piano bangers are.
