This place is awesome! I've only been there this one time, and it's February, but the trees growing out of the lake, the beautiful yellow flowers everywhere (on the banks, growing out of the lake), the mountain backdrop, just stunning! Again, it's a wet February, so I don't know how this place looks at other times. But it's gorgeous right... More

Best time to go is after the middle of the summer when the water starts dropping and the natural pools are just right. Water gets colder as you get closer to the mouth of the river.

Is there anything cooler than stopping off on a hot day and taking a plunge in a natural water pool? So there we were, on the way up a mountain when we spotted some people swimming. We headed down to the waters edge and the river had created some great natural pools. Also, as the water level was fairly low... More

This is a lovely lake used heavily by locals. There is a big marina with lots of cars while not a lot of boats are on the water. The gates for the dam aren't working (we were told by our host) so the lake has overfilled. The beaches for swimming are all gone so folks sit higher up. There are... More

House boating, fishing, wading. The river is almost full right now but by July will be drawn down for irrigation purposes.

We rented a fishing boat from Kaweah Marina for a half day. I couldn't believe how reasonable the prices were! We were able to buy bait right there too. They were so friendly and helpful! We will be going back soon to do an overnight boat rental for my husband's birthday! The scenery is awe-inspiring with the majestic snowcapped Sierras... More

Cobble Knoll is a part of the Lake Kaweah area under the control of the US Army Corps of Engineers. This area is a couple miles East of Lake Kaweah along Hwy 198 near Three Rivers, CA. The area is large and wide open. Rough trails exist, if you do not want to blaze your own. We spent a couple... More

We only stopped here for a few minutes on our way into Sequoia, but it looks like a great lake! There is a boat rental place that offers 1/2 and full day rentals that we plan on going back to try out.
