The drove to this one and the wait was much longer then Shrine drive thru tree we did earlier that day. But it was definitely more into tourist than the prior. The winding road to it made it feel more in nature so whole you waited for your photo opportunity it was very scenic. We also parked afterwards and went... More

I had always heard about a drive thru tree, so I had to see (drive thru) when I was on a vacation that took me to California Redwoods. I am lucky I was watching the clearance on the passenger side or I may have done like so many others and scraped the passenger side. I was driver a Dodge Charger... More

Well it is what is says: a drive through a giant tree. We paid 5 bucks which is fine, but was not thrilled about it.

You just have to do this, as you drive on Hwy 101/Hwy 1. Totally worth $5 in the off-season, especially if your car can make it thru! Kids thought it was cool, so that's a 'win!' Nice gift shop too.

We took a leisurely drive up from San Francisco and so glad that we did. It was roughly 3 hour drive up and the same back. To get into an attraction like this we were so surprised at the $5 charge, you could double or treble it in the UK and we would pay it. It's different, maybe not everyone's... More

It was pouring rain when we came through the redwoods, so the 'drive-thru' option appealed. We thoroughly enjoyed this basic kitsch attraction: grumpy ticket lady, pot-holed road followed by the main attraction siphoning you to the gift shop. Fold in your mirrors and make sure your passenger has good depth perception. You won't get through in anything bigger than our... More

Save your money and your vehicle. Road is full of pot holes that you have to dodge, and there is one big one just as you approach the drive thru tree. Other than the drive through tree, there is nothing to see other than their high priced gift shop. Total waste of money!

So this is the third time I have carted friends up to see this kitschy attraction. It's not as good as Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox further into the Redwoods and Trees of Mystery but it seems to be like Disneyland for the adults. It's only $5 to get in and there is a lovely lake, some more... More

Ok, you just have to do this one. Its $5 and basically an admission fee to shop in the overpriced gift shop - but worth it. We were there at a slow time and had no wait time. This must be one of the old time original roadside attractions. The overall property could use a bit of maintenance but nothing... More
