A beautiful visitor's center that gives you the overview/history of the area. It has the usual movie, gift shop, and bathrooms. We spent about and hour here.

Got some excellent suggestions on where to go to Mono lake and how to explore the volcano. Excellent advice on what to wear, and what to bring. Centre had good displays, fresh water, a movie theatre for information, and good clean public washrooms.

They have some great movies that tell you much about Mono Lake and Yosemite. Their displays are helpful and they have ranger staff who can guide you to the best locations. Quite informative.

THE place for info on the area. Most knowledgeable on the immediate area & Yosemite. A little less so on June Lake/Mammoth but enough to point you in the right direction. Like any area info center, the person giving the info will give you a...More

The visitor center has plenty of parking for those just visiting the center and for those that are hiking down to the lake. As for YARTS, I am not that familiar with the mass transportation system, but you may be able to... More
