The course was in very good shape and we had a great round. The staff was great and the grounds beautiful. Of course with a Pete Dye course you get his typical elevated greens (seemed like all 18 were elevated), narrow fairways, railroad ties, you know---all of the Dye elements. We actually think that Pete doesn't like the bogey golfers... More

The La Quinta Mountain course is unique and scenic, wending its way along the base of several large mountains. It is not easy but it also rewards a good shot. The greens are reasonably fast and roll well. The course condition was excellent, especially given recent heavy rains. Well worth a try.

This is how golf was meant to be played. The course Is fun yet challenging and the scenery never gets old. Most rounds of golf if you are playing poorly you can't wait until the 19th hole. This is not one of them as the round could have gone on forever! The entire staff from the pro shop to the... More

Played a round of golf on the Mountain course yesterday with my wife and were joined by another twosome. Teed off late morning. We finished in 5 hours (30 minutes too long) thanks in part to SLOW PLAY by the 2 groups in front of us who were obviously beginner golfers. We saw the course marshal (1x) on the 9th... More

08:42 tee off with two other singles. Good breakfast (Eggs Benedict + coffee), nice starter but the highlight was the course. Beautiful condition, fairways and greens were emerald green. Front nine was good fun, back nine had unparalleled views and holes. Definitely a must next time I am in La Quinta

Again, a terrible start to a round of golf, the most unfriendly, miserable starter I ever met. But his idiocy was soon forgotten as we teed off. We waited for at least 5 minutes every hole, and there was three empty holes in front of the foursome ahead of us. They need a Marshall to manage the pace of play... More

This was the last course we played on a weeks visit to California from the U.K. ....course starters very good as was the practice ground. We started off with breakfasts at the course, with many saying probably the best breakfast at any of the courses we visited. Great view from bar/dining area, facilities very good. Disappointed though as another person... More

Everyone I spoke to said this was a must play course before leaving the area; it is but the course didn't quite live to to the hype. The course is lovely and I loved the front nine more than the back. The back nine has, in my opinion too many houses surrounding the fairways. The short par 3 in like... More

Got to play this course for the first time in 20 years -- great turf, no rough, almost no trees, many varied changes in elevation, and beautiful scenery of the crisp mountain landscape as the course weaves its way through an exclusive housing development. I went to Indio specifically to play this course, and it was well worth it!
