We camped at Lake Cahuilla for a week in March. During the week it was quiet except for the constant firing range shooting (sounded like cannons, maybe reverberating off mts). On the weekend it was very crowded with loud music late into the evening and...More

The trails are well maintained and make walking easy though proper shoes are recommended. The level is between easy and moderate depending on the route chosen. Trails are well marked. The view out over the valley is great and the rock formations are well worth...More

Over the years (many years) I've fished here a lot .. but it's been a couple of years since my last time. I noticed some "other" sites reviews - specifically mentioning the staff and their unfriendliness and lack of help. My experience has been totally...More

We hiked this recreation area with our dog and it was lovely scenery, but we should have started more like 7 am until 9 am because even in December, the sun beat down on us hard and the dog pooped out before we finished. There's...More

It was just a short drive from our hotel and it really amazed us. This a fee-only place for recreational activities. Even for spending few minutes in the beach is worthy. This is a fresh water ancient lake which has reduced to just 125 acres...More

Although the scenery is gorgeous, the ground is too hard to drive a stake to secure a tent. Plus, it can get extremely windy by the lake so the tent is very unstable. Overall, not my best camping experience.

Great campsite for a stop on the way to Tucson. Lovely view of the lake and mountain. Saw people fishing for the freshly stocked trout. Pelicans, ducks and a lovely sunrise. Good star gazing.

Interesting man made lake. Outdoor pool (not open when we were there), children's playground, occasional mountain sheep, fishing allowed but no swimming. Worth a visit

Good for a picnic. Wonderful views of the mountains. Don't expect to swim. It is a reservoir. If you're lucky, you'll have a wildlife sighting. I saw a 6 ft. Rosy Boa. Be nice and don't touch the wildlife.

We went to Lake Cahuilla Recreation Area and had a nice time. Its a very nice park for either day use or camping. It is also a nice place for equestrians. The picnic areas are great for single families to group picnics. By the group...More

I don't think they are, but I took mine there in the winter to the little beach and let him frolic in the water. I think it is worse when there are lots of people. I know they are VERY serious about the leash thing. There... More
