I lived in SD for more than 25 years and I would come down to the cove in the summer and swim and snorkel. This is a great spot to easily get into and out of the water. There are other beach areas, but the...More

The odor is not always pleasant, but certainly natural. Here one can see and ear seals, sea lions, sharks, sea birds and also do people watching. It's so much fun and also relaxing. I could go every day.

This is definitely one of the best spots to watch seals / sea lions. So do not miss this. The area is at the same time a beach where also humans are swimming.

Not very impressive, expensive for the ctual visit. Limited visuals and seemed like there was not much to Oh and Ahh about. Just a cave with a big gift shop. Nothing to impress out of town visitors.REALLY HARD to find parking.

There is so much to see underwater from the various La Jolla beach entries. The best way to get a good overview of these spots is to attend the 3Rs workshops presented each summer. In the 3R workshops experienced divers and former lifeguards take snorkelers...More

The La Jolla Cove is a great place to visit even if you don't go into the water. It is nice to watch the sea lions even if they try to take over.

The surf at this location varies and its rocky shoreline should be approached with caution. This location boasts most of the typical local sea life attractions and is a good spot for snorkeling and shore diving. You will see many fellow adventurists doing so. The...More

The whole Beach and water area near La Jolla shores is protected. So it's all a part of the underwater park. In the he city of La Jolla between the pier and La Jolla cove.

This area is a city park, just parking fee if you park in an area that has meters. There is a long walking path along the water and trails on the bluffs, so you can walk the area if you want. The water is the warmest ever... More
