My husband did this years ago, and this time we brought the kids for their first rides. The kids are 10 and 15 and both had a blast- the highlight of the trip for them.

For me as a RC glider enthusiast Torrey is THE destination. It is unique in the beautiful views and consistent good lift. I'm from Indiana and if you are from out of town contact a member of the Torrey Pines Gulls RC glider club ahead...More

Here is the place to get a bird's eye view of what makes San Diego so special. It is close to the Salk Institute, UCSD, and Torrey Pines Golf Course.

I was taking a hike in the area, and I saw the gliders over me on the slightly rugged coastline, so I hiked up and found the Gliderport. You can pay for the experience, I have done it before, but it's beautiful to see and...More

FYI if you hike down to the bottom of the cliffs here, there is a nude beach below. That was a surprise to us!

We stopped here just to check the views and the kids were interested in the paragliding. A little pricey at $165 each , but well worth it. It was a highlight of our vacation.

stopped here for a nice short visit to watch the paragliding - fun quick thing to do along the way; it was very crowded and I think we got the last parking spot.

On Sunday afternoon we sat on the patio by the Gliderport enjoying the activities and a cold drink. A band was playing great tunes, had awesome views of the ocean & surrounding area. I heard the pizza was good too. Hiking trails available.

I would agree with Rich G.. we had no problems staying in the parking area during our visit. I would say there were 15 camper/motorhomes there the night we stayed
