It took less than 3 hours from the time we got there to the time we were done. However, there was only two of us on the tour when we went. It was fun and we got to see a lot of La Jolla.

It's been a while since we were there so I don't remember now. We were out in the water for maybe 1.5-2 hours and the actual time in the cave was only 3-5 minutes or so... just enough time for them to take us in and pull us... More

For kayaking, I think low ride is the best for getting close to the caves. The time of this varies by day. I suggest calling and asking the kayak place, and they will be the experts on this.
