We love to go to these tide pools, they are relatively easy to access and there is so much to see if you stop and look inside for a minute. Little fish, crabs, anemones and other tiny creatures have made little ecosystems that are fun to observe...and it's free!!

Regardless of your age this is a great activity. At low tide this a great place to take a stroll, explore the tide pools with or without children or just relax and watch the ocean. It is also a nice view from above on the path. Either way it's a fun, free and beautiful gem along the La Jolla coast.... More

We just walked above the pools, but on an overcast sprinkly Sunday, was a perfect way to enjoy this wonderland. Another free thing to do in La Jolla!

Always a special time at low tide to hunt for shells and enjoy the experience. Never fails to provide fun and memories for the kids.

Look at the tides before you go...get there 1-2 hours after high tide is over and stay there until low tide. This is a great place for kids to explore the tide-pools.

There's so much to do in this area, it's one of our favorite destinations. The tide pools are great places to find shells or just get on a high point and enjoy the sounds and views. Warning 1. The cliffs do erode. Don't climb and be careful standing where it's clear big pieces fall routinely. Warning 2. Walking along the... More

This was one of our favorite spots in La Jolla. The kids loved looking for seashells and were able to wade through the water . Of all of the spots in La Jolla, we spent the most time on this small beach. The climb down over the rocks can be a bit treacherous if you are older or out of... More

Easy to access and gorgeous. You can walk down to the little beach or simply stay on the walkway above. Either way, you will be in heaven.

Lots of shells if you go at the right time of day, fun for the whole family or romantic in the evening if you and your special someone want to take a walk!
